Track insurance does not work like that. You'll probably see me having just finished my lap, my time finished at 10:30, but i'll hang around for a bit afterwards for photo's etc (Not photo's of me, of the cars lol!)
rusgb see you there mate
I'll be around from 08:00am until probably noon-ish (Depends how annoyed the girlfriend gets!).
I'm goign without insurance, but not my car so not my problem lol, i'm not going to crash it, i can promise you that.
Without insurance any crashes on your car, to another car, injuries to instructor, yourself, bystanders, are your risk and monetary loss should they occur. Totally your call what you do as it's your life and money at the end of the day![]()
Any passenger (instructor) is in the vehicle at their own risk, this is why Ford make you sign a disclaimer stating if you crash and burn themselves, track organisers cannot be held responsible.
If someone crashes into you, if your not insured then its tough luck, of course you can go beat them up in the car park for crashing into you.
In short if you want your car covered, you must insure yourself and the car, this covers you and your car only, no one elses car and not passengers.
I'd normally insure my car with a specialist that includes track insurance to cover myself and my vehicle but the Mustang is with Directline and as previously mentioned its a track event, not a race so I shall not be getting close to anyone and if someone catches me up I shall simply indicate and move over as per correct track day rules.
Any vehicle that closes on you is faster, so don't be an idiot and trying racing them, move out the way and let them pass safely and then go back on concentrating, in theory instructors will watch your mirrors for you and inform you if a car is closing.
