Has anyone used the 3M 1080 Scotchprint Carbon fiber for stripes?

Not stripes but I was going to do my roof wrap in that but my installer said it wouldn't look very good. We're going to do a gloss black roof wrap and wrap the heat extractors, mirror covers and tail panel in the 3M 1080 CF.

3M 1080 makes a gloss black for the roof cover; super cheap on amazon; I think it was 50 bucks. The material looks really easy to work with.

I was think of doing a black carbon fiber stripes with the outer pin stripes in white carbon fiber.

Last time we tried a metallic/pearl white it only lasted about 9 months, manufacturer said that's normal with a pearl white so we are not going to do anything to help you. So until that changes we do not plan to carry it. We expand our color options on a regular basis, but do not want to sell a product that won't last.

Aw that's to bad. Thanks for the explanation. Looks like gloss white it is. I would consider painting in the future but that brings another host of problems and costs... Hopefully a higher quality product comes out in the future in white platinum metallic. I know that would look sharp.

I have added my hood spears a couple of weeks ago. The first pictures are with the car dirty sadly and the last ones cleaned . The stripes are from 3M - Light charcoal metallic, I ordered those on stripeman.com. I find them to be a good compromise in not being too flashy and at the same time pronouncing the hood forms. The colour does look different depending on the light, which is not bad at all.

Nice, NicoMCH. I'm running similar color hood spears that I purchased from Big Worm Graphix. I think the spears give a little pop to our cars.

Well, having purchased lens tint and hood spears from them, I know they seel quality products. So their explanation makes sense. :cheers:

That is sexy as hell and what I think I want to do to my DIB.
Can you tell me the size of the stripes and gap between the pinstripe. I have a customer of mine that can make these and needs the dimensions.

Here's my Walmart special. $10 a set, 4 self tapping screws included.

Install of springs, spacers, flaps, etc:

I pre drilled 3 holes in the front fenders. Then I used double sided permanent tape and a fourth screw on the plastic wheel well.

In the rear I used double sided permanent tape and framing L brackets in the rear quarter panel. I pre-drilled through the flap and the L bracket and then ran 4 self tapping screws into the L brackets.

I bought a Mohawk kit from Big Worm; I'll have it installed this weekend.

I have been back and forth with stripes; so I'm curious to see how this looks on my Magnetic GT.
