+1 for the engine check, chatting to a guy in Le Mans this year driving a Pick up with a sign... 'My other car is a broken 911', he had it six months and the engine blew, Porsche Uk would not let him have a replacement car that could go to Europe hence the pick up at the Porsche Curves, on a Porsche UK camp site!!!

There was a great article on piston heads recently about a guy who was running a turbocharged Chevy LS in his 996 4S. Looked like a great way to get Porsche handling with a decent engine and noise.

It's a newish 991 not a 997. No worries about IMS/RMS failing etc.

Have a mishimoto intake in blue, Steeda progressive springs still in the box (unused), genuine boot floor mat, roush black oil, water and brake fluid caps (unused) and probably some other bits.

Nice on 991, what model is it, C2S? Be great to hear your thoughts on it after you've owned it a couple of weeks. :)

I look at 997s and 991s daily. Since my 993 days it's the only car I've ever really missed (yes, very different now I know). I've always told my wife that I'll end up in one - once I've gotten over the v8 thing. Funny thing is, I'm not kinda stuck on v8s... maybe I can have both... ? (Ron Burgandy)

I was looking at these two last night:

GTS
http://www.jzmporsche.com/used-vehicle-details/Porsche-911-U1261/

GT4
http://www.jzmporsche.com/used-vehicle-details/Porsche-Cayman-U1259/

Love them both, cannot afford either unless I sell both the Muzzer and M3. :(

Then I'd have the hard choice between 911 GTS or Cayman GT4, I love the GT4, its insane, just put of by manual though its a very nice manual. The 911 GTS more power, PDK so an absolute missile and last of the NA 911's but though its nice its a bit bland apart from colour.

Wish they did a PDK GT4, I'd probably be sold right away. :D

I'd both love and hate to have that decision... GT4 will probably retain more value over the ownership period, but the 911 is just a lovely thing in GTS spec, though I'd pick a manual since it seems to be what "fits" the GTS model. That's only my opinion though.

If I were driving it every day, 911.

Had a few Porkers. Best was a 964 3.6 turbo, or the GT2 (that one lasted twelve weeks as my wife said it made her feel sick). She nearly went rather than the car.

GT4 residuals are now softening as there is oversupply and dealers are having to drop prices.

Realised I have a Mustang Owners Club indoor stretch cover as well.

The Pedders went with the car. Probably did 100 miles on em. I won't even tell you about the Remus exhaust......

I went from a 996 TT S Fearnsport tuned - and it was super quick, in fact bordering on insane. Well made and I loved it !!

I am often asked which i prefer and its tricky, i saw the TT as a super efficient surgical instrument, almost laser like in its ability. The Mustang is just a sodding great hammer..............and in all honesty I much prefer doing DIY with a hammer. SO tried them both, epic cars both, but the Mustang wins hands down in the pure grin factor. Also try and modify a Porsche, turn up at a club meet and see the horror in their faces. Try not to modify a Mustang and see the horror in their faces !
