Hey fellas, after adding a P1X the car is running fantastic but I need some help getting the suspension better. I don't run quarter miles, or go to the track, I enjoy spirited driving on the weekends on the highway but I'm not pulling up on anyone. I've added a few things here and there but ready to make it better, the car just doesn't feel "smooth" at higher speeds and am considering adding Ford Performance shocks and struts. Car is a PP1, wrapped in Nitto's, What I've done so far:

Front:
Steeda progressive springs
Camber bolts
Bump Steer kit
Steed 2 point brace
(I was getting bad bump steer, and this all helped. It's MUCH better now...but not quite perfect)

Rear:
Steeda progressive springs
BMR vertical links
BMR Craddel lock outs
I started putting Steeda alignment bushings and did the rears. I also have BMR differential bushings I haven't installed.
(rear of the car feels a little bumpy/gritty at high speeds. Looking to get a smoother top end).

Thinking shocks and struts are next, and anything you guys recommend while I'm there.

Tires and brakes to control all that power.

I'd say the shocks/struts would make a good difference and while there, I'd switch from progressive to linear springs.

I've been very pleased with my Bilstein B6 shocks and struts. Would get them again if starting over.

yup! The Nitto G2's feel great, and I also added power stop pads and slotted rotors.
first off. Those G2s are a downgrade from most performance tires. They’re basically cheap trash and borderline dangerous in the wet. You deserve better.

next, what the heck does “gritty” mean w/r/t suspension? Can you describe it differently? Theres a good chance that shocks will help but it would be good to know what you’re reacting to first.

maybe it's the tires, but once I get over 85 - 90mph and cruising on the highway (not WOT pulls) it stops feeling "smooth". I feel the rear end somewhat bumpy. If I'm cruising around town...stop light to stop light there are no issues. Thanks for the help.

Had this on my 2017. Dramatic improvement in every way over the PP1 suspension.

bumpy like how? Like its just bouncing too much after you go over a rise or bump? That wouldbe shocks being underdamped or worn out. Some ford racing track shocksor bilsteins should cure that.

Thanks NM. I ordered some FRPP track shocks earlier today....also ordered a set of steeda lateral links. Only other thing I'm considering while I'm there is upgrading the sway bars.

When I get to speed it feels bumpy as if i was going over gravel non-stop....except it's at 100mph. It's not horrible, or very noticeable but I know it's there. I'm hoping the shocks/struts and finishing the alignment bushings in the back will get rid of it.

Was the upgarde in sway bars noticable? That's the only thing Im on the fence on...both, front's only, is it worth the $$ etc.
I couldn't say if "just the sway bars" were noticeable as I changed everything over at one time.
The ride quality, handling, braking were all improved over stock PP1.

I found the PP1 suspension very bouncy, and would sort of unload in the middle of a hard corner, creating a very unnerving feeling. The strut/spring on that kit come pre-assembled, which makes the install even easier. I assume the shocks and springs are tuned to each other, so trying to re-use your springs may have unwanted results.

The track pack sway bars are significantly stiffer and thicker than the PP1 stuff

Gravel is a very odd description. Are your shocks leaking(if you take off a wheel, are they wet?)? Only way I could see a gravel road being comperable is if they’re so dead the wheels are freely hopping at speed.
