I have a Steeda shifter bracket. At 5k+ rpm my interior vibrates… pretty hard :/

Is this common? Is there any way to tone it down? It makes it hard to shift. I miss 4th gear a lot because of the vibration at high rpm.

While I don't have this part, I have done modifications that change the factory bushing to urethane bushings. The vibrations from the engine or transmission are transmitted to the dash, chassis, etc. I am surprised that your setup is vibrating so much that it affect your driving. Unfortunately sometimes firmness and tightness doesn't always translate to comfort.

I had that bracket installed on my car, didn't notice anymore vibration than stock. Now I have the Blowfish Racing shifter support kit installed and holy shit is there vibration and rattle at high RPM's. But I don't get locked out of 3rd on the 2-3 shift at high RPM anymore.

I get vibrations in the dash/shift knob when I open it up. Most likely the trans mount bushing insert I
put in. My MGW x-spec is out for delivery today though. Getting rid of all this mickey mouse BS ford did around the transmission. New clutch/fw setup and steeda lines are next. Just gonna throw the kitchen sink at it all at once.

You will not be disappointed. My MGW might be the best mod I've done to the car.

Nice. That's what a lot of people say. I'm definitely excited about it.

What's your full setup? I'm torn between two clutches, the vengeance stg1 and the mcleod rst.

Not enough power to warrant a new clutch yet, but the shifter alone made the driving experience so much better. I got locked out of 2-3 a ton.

Maybe my headers are coming in contact with the frame of the car? When I first modded the car and put on my new exhaust, I could rev up to 7k easily. But after I started having issues with my first engine, I couldn’t rev past 4k rpm without getting insane vibration. I have a new engine now, but with rev hang and the vibration, it’s hard to push the car to its full potential. Maybe that’s a good thing? 😂 so I don’t break anything

How fast can you snatch a gear? Any issues over 7k? I like the feel of my stock clutch. It's light, smooth, and friendly enough to slip just a c hair during high rpm gear changes to keep the mt82 alive. I can't live with this lockout/grinding business though.

I have this bracket and no issues with vibrations. It was my first mod 6 years ago. I tried the trans bushings insert and had to remove it because the whole car vibrated violently.

LPX-HD solved all my lock out issues. Clutch pedal is as light as stock and I can bang 8k shifts all day long with no lock out. Less notchy than my stock clutch was when it's cold out too.

I've had vibration with this car since I bought it. Eventually ended up being a bad clutch, but I suspect the clutch went bad from the existing vibration. IDK what the problem is, but I have vibration through the stick and from the pedals. WTF?

I went with the Race Standard, so it is the tallest version. I wasn't overly concerned with the length of throws. More concerned with the lockout. I have yet to get locked out of a gear since I installed the shifter.

I can only recommend against the McLeod if you don't want your car to sound like a broken pile of crap driving through parking lots. Essentially have to keep RPM above 2K to avoid the ridiculous noise nobody talks about.

I think it's unsprung hub doing that. Good info. Thank you.
