I never look at the tach unless I'm revving very high and need to watch the redline. Otherwise, I just shift when it feels and sounds right.
I do exactly this. I just shift when it sound like it needs a shift I'm guessing asomewhere in the 2k-3500 range

Lol! Shift points with a MT isn’t really even a thing unless your at the drag strip wringing every bit of power out, or on a road course where proper up and down shifting will make or break your run.
Around town you need to know the gears, feel the car, listen to the motor, watch the road, plan your route ahead of where you are....it’ll all tell you when to shift up or down.
Sounds kinda wonky I guess.......become “one” with your car, till it’s second nature.
