I have yet to engage launch control. I think I remember someone writing that it voids warranty? Seems crazy to put a feature on a car and say, "But, don't even think about using it." Does Launch necessarily engage line locks or does it just hold a set RPM for launch?

Who has used this marvel of technical innovation and what are your opinions???

Oh and Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Merry Feast of the Pig....whatever works for you all.

None of those features void warranty if not used on competitive events. Enjoy the car!!

So, I'm assuming that no one here has used the launch control.

I've never used it, I'll admit that I have tried to get it to initiate a few times just for kicks but failed. I'm better at launching the car myself ne ways.
Line lock is fun if you don't mind buying tires all the time, other than that, I'll do my own burn out in the water box.

My understanding is that you put it in track mode, leave traction control on, floor it (when I say floor it, floor it. Don't be a pansy about it. Put it to the floor like you mean it.) and it will automatically hold between 3000 - 4500 rpm and you let the clutch out and traction control aggressively modulates the throttle for the best launch.

However, it's probably not that useful at the track unless you just want to be lazy and hold the pedal down to the floor on launch but more just to impress your friends with.

One thing to note, don't just dump the clutch when using launch control. I've seen a few people do that... That's not how the launch control works. This isn't the NHRA. Saw a few people break driveshafts doing that crap with the Camaros. Lol

Edit: Obviously two different cars, but I used it on my '12 Camaro SS back when I had it and it worked but I was able to get quicker times just doing it myself. I'm assuming it's basically the same with the Mustang.

Yes, launch control works in my car. Just setup the rpm you want it to hold in the menu and when launch control is enabled it will hold that rpm with the throttle wide open. Let the clutch out aggressively (tad slower than a dump) while not lifting off the throttle. System will manage power delivery until clutch is completely engaged and car moving off the line. Power is linearly increased to maximum in a compressed time span to minimize traction breaking loose. It will still spin going down the track as you accelerate though, just helps manage the launch without you having to perfectly manage modulating the throttle input.

If you don't keep the throttle pinned, launch control is disengaged.

Edit: normally this would be used in drag mode, where traction control is mostly off (advance Trac on)

Also coolant temp needs to be above 170C to enable LC.

I'll copy what someone else said about launch control.... "I wish I could trade it for rev-matching".

I never got launch control to work with my GT, so I'll probably never try with the GT350. What I remember is I turned it on, and the LC was showing on the dash, and I stopped in the road ready to try it, but the revs didn't seem to hold at the correct RPM. Maybe I didn't get the accelerator all the way down? Not sure.

I'm a bit of a pansy when it comes to wearing out tires and mistreating my cars. I will floor it regularly, and the tires spin/slip all the time, but I don't typically ever try to spin the tires just to spin them more than a quick bit.

I tried out the line lock on my 2015 GT, but I waited until it was icy and used the line lock on ice. Ballsy huh? FWIW, the line lock worked great on ice. :)
