Harsh highs. Exessive, mushy bass coming from door speakers. Reasonable center stage, though. I'd rather have just put together my own system, but no point now.

It's 10x better than the "Alpine" sound system in my Durango. What garbage that is!

I wouldn't pay extra for the Pro. Just make sure you get the standard Shaker with the Sync 3 unit, that is worth the money over the base radio (not sure on how 2018's are equipped so please excuse if they made Sync 3 standard). For mine I have the Shaker 8 speaker. I replaced the rear deck speakers with a set of aftermarket coax speakers I had from a previous install I never used. I think they were Kicker or Pioneer, nothing fancy. I then added a 12" sub and amp for it. Again, stuff I had laying around. Sounds good, plenty (if not too much) bass. I would rather just have a 10" or 8" sub but didn't feel like spending any money when I already have like 3 sets of 12" subs in my storage unit.

How much trunk space to you save with the shaker pro versus a compact sub? Do people feel it’s worth the price for that? If not then $900 for a 8” sub in a plastic enclosure seems overpriced, unless the interior speaker upgrades are also substantial?
You can get a 50w powered 8” bazoka tube for $150. A nicer JL audio 8”subwoofer with matched ported enclosure and separate JL 250w amp runs $400..and both are pretty compact and work off line level inputs so there’s minimal modication to install them (though eb owners have to unplug the noise cancelation microphones).
Personally the dealbreaker for me for shaker pro was the lack of a subwoofer gain adjustment, that would drive me crazy.

The only complaint I have with it is it sounds like a base system with most FM radio station. The HD stations are a little better. Satellite radio sounds like crap. The best sound was with Pandora on a Galaxy phone. My iPhone sounds good, but not like it did with the Galaxy.

Why or how it's designed like that is above my head. You would think it would sound the same regardless the source.
