So ordering new 18 soon i am sad to see the Shaker Pro as a additional add on. Anyone think its worth the money or just go with the basic and do aftermarket?

Depends how fussy you are. Listen to one first. They don't have much base and the Highs are limited and harsh

We like ours, it's a much better system than what's in our other cars.
I admit it is nice for stock but that just wasn't good enough for me.

:D

I thought so. I'm replacing the door speakers only to get more mids and more pop on the drum sounds

i think the 18 may have eliminated the subwoofer and only include the 12 speakers now. 17 mentioned the sub, but 18 doesnt at all

Unless, they've changed it for '18, the 12-speaker system includes the subwoofer:

- 2 tweeters
- 2 front mids
- 2 front sub-mids
- 1 center channel speaker in the dash
- 2 rear coax/two-way speakers (which ford counts as "4 speakers")
- 1 powered sub

you are correct. never seen the sub mentioned as just a speaker so it threw me off (very stupid)

It’s probably worth it in there are no aftermarket head unit replacements that work worth a crap. Look around and you’ll see that no matter what non OEM stereo gets installed it’s always followed with problems of things not working correctly.

I replaced the speaker in the shaker sub box and installed a new amp for it.
Then I replaced the tweeters and center channel.
Higher highs and lower lows.
For around $650, I'm pretty happy with the sound now.
