So I'm getting ready to install a PC Stage 2 kit and was wondering how the access is to the air filter when everything is all bolted back together. Do you just reach in and disconnect it and remove it? Not having the car in front of me I'm guessing some stuff has to be removed to get access?

Also wondering if they make a dry filter for it that has good flow? I plan on installing the one that came with it, but might want to go oilless when the time comes to clean it.
Thanks

I'm about to install my PC Stg 2 also. I'm guessing you can pull the wheel well liner to get to it.

Cool, thanks. Anyone have any input on whether a good dry filter is available that fits and allows for good flow.

You can clean ours with normal KN cleaner, and oil.

I am "cheap" so I just take mine off, and soak it in my kitchen sink with a bunch of DAWN brand dish soap.... then rinse it later, dry it, and oil it.

My suggestion on the dry filters is..... get the bigggggest unit you can fit in there, to keep your restriction down. :) And don't use a "race filter" because in that case, you might as well use none at all.

Happy Boooooosting.

I just remove the lower splash pan and remove the filter , clean and reinstall ..Why pull the wheel and liner ? too damn much work if you ask me ..While you are at it change the oil and filter ..

I clean mine with simple green , let it dry and oil it.. I have had to clean mine twice in 4000 miles ...

Yes, one of the things about having a supercharger.....

Is that you are moving a LOT more air, then before.
(that bypass valve is open, and moving air)

So you need to clean it more often then ever before.
Hence why I go with the "cheap" method of using soap... LOL.

What is the recommended interval for cleaning the filter on average? I know it depends on conditions, etc but what would be a good average mileage marker to clean it? I'll probably just do it once a year as I drive less than 5k in the summer only and only on nice days.

I used to clean mine every oil change.
Let it soak while I was doing the rest of the oil change.

I am lazy these days, and my filter is a dark as the night sky LOL.
Shame on me.
