And back when I had no money for "mags", it was cool to paint your steel wheels black, with chome lug nuts and trim rings. This was my '70 Sport roof 302:

For you younger folks... This was the car that really mainstreamed the black wheel thing (but back then the rims were silver (I still like that look in some instances)):

At least I'm consistent.

Just turned 50 last week. 😥

Black wheels on a light colored car works. Keeping a black car clean is consuming enough. The wheels just make it worse.

Aluminum, silver, graphite, chrome on a darker car.

The white car isn't mine.

Over 2 years later and this thread is still going, lol. I currently have charcoal grey on my white. I'm not sure if my next wheels will be lighter or if I'll go to black. :)

44 here, but I have a lot more in common with the boomers than the millennials. In my opinion, it depends on the car. Classic cars had chrome bumpers and trim, so chrome or polished wheels look good. Modern cars don’t. I only like polished wheels on black cars.

^^^ . . . NEXT wheels? Why???

Nor
Mainly to upgrade to a flow formed model for strength. My current wheels are cast and I had one crack when a small piece of retread hit it on the inside. If/when I might keep these with all seasons for winter.

OK, so there is no separate senior folder yet (and maybe there will never be), but this question is targeted at 50 and up owners. Do you like black wheels? It's fairly obvious they are more popular with the younger crowd.

I did not like them at all when they first became prevalent, but they have grown on me somewhat on cars in certain colors. (Mean look with magnetic.) Even so, I would only consider gloss black because you know when they're clean. Also, mesh style or any intricate spoke pattern seems pointless since it's difficult to see except up close. Black PP1 wheels come to mind. In most cases a charcoal or graphite will show the spoke pattern much better while still giving a darker look.

What do you think of them? :)
I love them, and especially the ones with the PP. I have ordered a 21 GT in Twister Orange, and I think black wheels look the best with this color, but, it's just my opinion, and can't wait to receive my car and see it in person. And I am 61 if that may matter.
