Donson, that is a twist on "Smokey/Bandit" that requires some kind of imagination! Or some real good medicinal herb.
You are correct...love the show Smokey and the Bandit, and thought I would put a current twist on the character .....I hope know one was offended....we got half way through filming and the hotel lady (great looking btw..Intercontinental Hotel in Addison Tx) ask me what I was doing, told her and let her read the script and she was less than happy with my (gay references) and wanted her boss to look into it....or as she put it, maybe I should use another Hotel....and the story get longer....

Wow - $83k is a great deal! Someone is lucky!
It's going to go up, I'd guess. Once reserves are met, bidding usually slows till the end.

I was an original owner of a 05 Ford GT and submitted an application. So you are saying that all Ford GTs have been assigned a buyer. I find this hard to believe. But if you have facts then please explain.
From what I've read the process will start in July with email notifications and a waiting list to be developed. So by the end of August the process should be complete. Nobody on the Ford GT forum has been selected so far.
No selections made yet. I spoke with the dealer and my neighbor, a Ford factory driver, just yesterday about the crazy video submission process and was told there were 100 applicants for each and every slot but no decisions would be made until late Sept or October. Not very relevant to me as 485K is slightly outside my auto budget for 2017.

Smokey and the Bandit...... I WAS going to get a custom plate here:

"SPDY CAR" - but thought that would either get my keyed or a ticket...
heh... my personalized plate was approved, then i got a letter today saying... "sorry, that's offensive" .

Good luck on selling the R car and congrats on the Porsche. Definitely one of my dream cars. Please post photos and your thoughts/opinions on the car after driving it.
Good luck!

I must be missing something. What's wrong with $83k? It's a previously titled car which is considered used even if it had 10 miles.

I think $83k for a car with 1,000 miles is a pretty good take honestly that only MSPRs in the mid 60s. Still almost $20k over MSRP on a used car.

I have thought about this, and is why Im not worried about it...but a MSRP deal on a GT3RS....it will never happen in my lifetime again...right place and right time....:headbang: now to part with another 100K :frusty: My daughter ask me, "Daddy, am I still getting a car when I turn 16?" poor kid..... heard me bitching about the extra money..lol..Im wondering if the 'spoiling her' is going to back fire..

In my opinion the new generation GT3 and GT3RS is nothing special. They dont have the rawness of old mezger GT3s. They are very easy to drive, and they are "just another fast" car. You smash the pedal, dont even need to touch the pedals and the car will lap and lap and lap fast. I would never give up an R for a GT3 or GT3RS.

From a financial standpoint, I also dont think the last gen GT3/RS will hold their value. There will be more cars like them every 3-4 years with more tech, better RWS, faster PDKS, wider wheelbase, etc. A lot of people mistake that because the old 997.2 cars are so valued, same will happen. It wont. The old car is being valued so well because of its engine, its sound, its hydraulic steering, and lack of bunch of electronics that dull the car.

I think the OP will regret this.
