I went with those 6gr wheels as the condition of the was good and the numerous extra tires that came with it was a bonus. I need the front lugs resolved for my R. 6gr website has a set of lugs for $80 with caps. Seems steep. Anyone else agree?

Hi,
I am doing Thompson Speedway on April 22'nd, and New Hampshire Motorsports park on May 13, with scca.com (tracknightinamerica.com).
I like them as they are during the week, and I can just take half a day off work, leave at noon, start at 3pm or so, back home by 8PM.
Pricing wise they are also good, 160 for members, but you get one hour only. 3 x 20 min sesssions.
I am about an hour away from both these track, and Palmer also...
Hope to see you around; I am in the GT350R most likely for these 2 events, a very remote chance I might take the M3 for a spin :)

I live in Newton, MA.

Cheers
I'm just south of Boston. Hoping to do this once I get my GT350 fully broken in (currently 51 miles on it LOL!). Finally took it out of storage last Thursday and ran it thru the gears. I'm hoping to head down to Thompson some time this summer.

I'd assume they are less grippy than R7's. I've never ran hoosiers, i don't want to try them as I don't like the cost haha.

I THINK 5 days is possible on the sc3r, but not certain yet. the 1st two days were on a track that's less harsh on tires and brakes than my home track, so not really sure what to expect.
No purple crack?

They are fast :)

I agree, most that post about the 3R say 2 or 3 days, but for some reason mine are worn very nicely after 2 days... they could very well fall off in grip soon though.
I'm on my second set of 3Rs, these have 8 days (3@daytona, 2@Summit Main, 2@NJMP, 1@Summit Shenandoah) and 35 heat cycles as of this past weekend (square and rotating often).

-3.0*/-2.5* F/R camber and they're only showing wear on the outer ~2" of the tire. Looks like they'll heat cycle out before the tread wears out which is surprising. It's still pretty cold here so I can't tell if it's ambient temp or if they're just taking longer to warm up. They were always kind of hockey pucks when cold. 30*-40* ambient and they're at full grip in 3 laps. They still have plenty of grip when at temp.

Killed my SC3's on day 7. outside edge died on 3 of the 4, so -3.2 isn't enough for them but not sure i'm going to give the next set any more than that. Def will buy them again!

Interesting video on tires that blessedly uses a heavy car for the testing (finally). Those SC3 continue to impress for a street tire!

Also impressive how much faster the 3Rs are over the cup2s

I'm told re71r grip and rs4 life. Worth trying if price is right.
that would be absolutely killer.love the re71rs. They just get a bit greasy on our heavy cars

I tend to watch these with some skepticism but I have to say his comments on the SC2 were pretty spot on. My car gets tight half way in to a 20 min session.

Well I am going to tell you tomorrow how Coopers RS3-G1's behave on track, all seasons tires :)

It's almost freezing today in Connecticut, and I think they could work to a degree... my cup 2's have not arrived in time.

Well, track day has been a success... I was faster than all the field in Intermediate group, so that's that. But it was to be expected, I was overtaking Volvo sedans :)

No matter how much air I dropped, and how hard I tried to warm up the tires, they squealed like crazy in turns, and are very slippery compared to cup 2's... and I think my cup 2's were heat cycled out for a while now.
I almost ran out of the track on my first hot lap, being used to the old brake reference point at the end of the straight at Thompson. Not so fast with these on, stopping takes longer... :)

Looking at the tires at the end of the day, you couldn't tell they were on track, no rubber melted. I think I can do it again with all seasons, still fun, but slower as others said ...
