Seal to hood CAI

I have a JLT CAI and trying to gently close the hood is not possible.
Is it common to need to drop the hood about a foot high when closing. Are all seal to hood systems this tight? First open system I've ever dealt with.

Shouldn't be that hard..maybe make sure everything is seated right?

If you are running the 2018 intake in your signature line it's likely due go the throttle body sitting higher than on a 2015 intake. That's my understanding, and there are threads where others have had to massage their intake hoses to get the fitment just right.

Aluminum hood.. Ford would rather you drop it from 9 inches or so rather than risking denting it. JLT seals aren't tight to the hood. I replaced my seal with a different one that seals up nice and tight. Closes like it's designed too ;)

The JKL I’m using does not touch the hood at the tube to TB area, it’s the air box seal portion that’s seems to be up too high. I think I’ll try Wildhorses suggestion and change the seal type.
Before the JLT with the 18 intake and a PMAS CAI the tube closest to the hood was touching. You can see in this pic the rubbing area.
