I just received my SCT with Bama tune (and JLT CAI) and will be installing them this weekend. I have a question on the features of the SCT and how they relate to the preloaded tune.

The SCT is preloaded with 2 Bama tines. 91 performance and 93 race tunes.

The SCT has a number of features that it can do out of the box, like raise the speed limiter as an example, plus a bunch more.

How do I confirm which of these features is adjusted by the Baja tune?
Can I adjust the preloaded tune when I go through the setup or do I need a new tune?

The SCT features are here http://www.sctflash.com/products.php?PID=74&VID=#3

if you have any questions about the specifics of your Bama tune I'd go right to the source and call customer service at American Muscle
I'd be willing to bet your speed limiter has already been increased on the performance and race tunes

Hey Geo,

That's a great question and I would recommended using Bama's Tune and putting a few miles on it as there's no reason to be using SCT's Pre-Loaded Tunes! You purchased the tuner with custom tunes for YOUR EcoBoost so there's no reason to use the off the shelf SCT Tunes. The Bama Performance team will have the rev limiter raised but not to the point where power wont be produced so high in the RPM range. Some of the upgrades that you'll see with the Sport tune will be, Increased power throughout the entire RPM range, Improved throttle response, Revised timing, fuel whereas the Track Tune will be that much more aggressive. If you'd like to discuss with any of the Bama Tuning Specialists further don't hesitate to let them know! I would also highly recommend having the firmware updated on your device. If you have any questions or need assistance doing so let them know!

Thanks Alex but it's more a question of the features that the Bama tune takes advantage of, not the off the shelf tunes.

Is the speed limiter increased or removed?

I check the firmware version using the SCT Device updater and it's current. Is there another way to check/confirm?

Hey Geo -

Shoot the Bama Team a call and ask for Ryan and he's happy to explain this in more detail for you but the speed limited is increased slightly to make the best performance possible. As per the updates using the Device Updater is going to be the best way to make sure that everything is good to go! Shoot them a call at 888.226.9764 so they can get you some help on this!
