Are you able to install the rear harness mounts of a Scroth Quickfit pro through the back seats, or do they need to be removed completely. On that same note, if the back seat needs to be removed can you reinstall the rear seat and leave the rear mounting brackets of the harness attached for future use?

You're supposed to be able to re-install the back seat after bolting in the harness.

You have to remove rear seat cushion to install a bracket on the outside lapbelt. Then you replace the cushion. Then you just clip the belt in and out without removing the cushion again. Takes 15 minutes to install the first time then literally 30 seconds to clip/unclip the harness. Great product...

Dont go and read on the added benefit of a roll bar when strapped in the seat because you'll end up selling your QuickFit Pro and installing a WR roll bar and Profi II ASM belts!!

Not sure the OP bought this belt - but I was wondering if so, does it provide any support at the track or is it more just a safety thing?

Thanks

Much more support at the track when you're belted firmly in the seat.

I installed these belts in my 2015 GT, then removed them when I purchased my GT350. Love them at the track, very supportive. Tuck them over the shoulder of the seat when no at the track. Easy to unclip if needed thought.

So which is best for light to moderate track use? Quick fit or pro? Seems the pro compensates for additional brAcing, can’t remember the name. I wonder which is more comfortable.

I've had both. Both are equally comfortable, and either one will hold you in place on track. The biggest difference is that only the QuickFit Pro can be used properly with a HANS device. After seeing some videos showing the effects of a helmeted head in an impact with and without a HANS device, I sold my QuickFit harnesses, installed the QuickFit Pro, and bought a HANS.

Incidentally, when I'm not using the harnesses, I leave the outboard rear harness connectors on each side clipped in, fold down the rear seats, pass the belts through to the trunk, and put the seats back up. That way when I'm not using the harnesses they are not completely disconnected, and my two kids are still able to use the rear seat belts. I can then easily pass the harnesses back through to the front for track days.

I'll chime in here since I have the Schroth quikfit pro I think. I think the setup was pretty well thought out on how it clips into the rear seat buckle points. Attaching the outside lap part was not so easy as you have to partially remove a plastic part of the molding down low and remove a bolt and it was a good bit of work so not sure what the others are talking about it being a 15 min install :lol:it takes longer than that. And this was not a cheap part either.

Anyway now that its in and I've used it maybe 4 times at the track I find it is much better than the stock shoulder belt but ONE thing that is lacking is a crotch belt. To be really tied to the seat you need to have a crotch belt to pull against when pulling down on the shoulder belts. When you do pull on the shoulder belts what happens is you pull up the lap part of the belt. I'm not sure there is an easy solution to this problem as the seats aren't conducive to putting holes through for a crotch belt....well not if you want the stock warnings to still be working.

Anyway just my thoughts on my experience with the belts. Think the are good but not perfect...and can't be by design without the 5th belt. Good luck.

They need to be removed. You will also have to remove interior side panels to install the bracket on the front.

Never removed the side panels, do they just pop out? Have not found any videos or instructions for removing the panels.

Detailed instructions are included with the harnesses. The side panels and the plastic along the inside of the door jamb both pop off and snap back in once the one-time installation of the additional buckle “tongues” is complete. Not a difficult job, but I agree with shelbyman above that it’s not a 15-minute task either. I took my time and spent a little under an hour per side.
