Schropp Strut Tower Brace

Installed the Schropp strut tower brace today and I can only say WOW. The fit is absolutely spot on and it is designed in such a way that it fits perfectly over the K-brace. On the passenger side there is even a little hole to accommodate a ground screw that is attached there.

So it not only looks the part, it is light, very well made and it fits like a glove. Recommended.

Let's hope it also helps a bit, although Ford believes that only K-brace is fair enough.


Do you believe there is enough room to remove the plastic engine cover without removing the strut brace?

Maybe. But you can actually unbolt the center part without having to remove the tower parts.

Did you figure out why it has those hi get on the ends? Looks to me like it would make the brace weaker?

And did you post purchase info? I'm guessing this would be easier and cheaper to order than the full set with k-brace from the US...

I'm not sure what you mean by that?

I ordered it via email. Payment options were paypal or bank transfer. Shipping costs were very reasonable, something like 16 euro.

lol - was supposed to be hinges and not 'hi get' (damn autocorrect) - the other ones I've seen have been just one solid piece of metal - this one has some 'give' in it I would guess (from the hinges at the ends)

Well the idea behind dat is probably that you can remove the middle part without having to undo any of the strut tower nuts and messing up your alignment.

The hinges are basically a bolt and a nut, so you can tighten the f#ck out of them. It's rock solid.

Yeah obviously the Ford product is less expensive but that is just a stamped and painted piece. This is precision milled and beautifully finished in black powdercoating.

Come on! It's under the hood I plan in being behind the steering wheel! ;)

Of course being up here means I need to add stupid shipping costs, at least 25% VAT and horrendous fees either way... Sometimes this EU thing doesn't sound so bad ;)

I would think a front end wheel alignment is necesarry after install since it seems all the stud tower bolts were removed, especially the rear one.

I just installed my Fore Racing one tonight. Was thinking an alignment isn't necessary. My reasoning is that one side came with no nuts on either of the strut mount studs from the factory, this is on my Base model GT.
