Exactly. You can bet that if it had no function Ford would have left it out in their original US design as well. The beancounters still rule over there, just look at the prehistoric standard prop rod, which is probably only a few bucks cheaper to make than a set of hood struts.For me, its more that its something that 'should' be there, and was only removed due to stupid EU rules.
I think the engine bay looks incomplete without it. Ford designed the chassis upgrades for the PP to work in harmony, and the strut brace is missing in the EU.
I had to make it whole again![]()
