I know Ford has their recommendations, but what does everyone actually follow for maintenance intervals? Coolant, air filter, brake fluid, etc. I'm pretty sure Ford'a recommendation for transmission fluid is over the 100k mark...which is a little long IMO. I just turned over 20k. What has everyone followed so far?

At 20k do the two filters: air and cabin. Honestly the next mileage you can begin thinking about is 50k... thats when you can flush coolant and tranny fluid if you really please. Honestly that's as early as you can warrant in my opinion... and thats only if you lose sleep at night worrying about losing tenths of seconds and a handful of horsepower after 150k miles. Brake fluid my rule is when you've beat on it a lot, or when the pedal feels squishy, or when you notice a leak, or maybe 50k (more like 75-100)

probably too soon to flush the brake fluid, but you could test it just for fun:

TESTING BRAKE FLUID

Since you can't tell how badly contaminated brake fluid is by its appearance alone (unless the fluid is full of rust or is muddy brown), the fluid should be tested unless you are changing it for preventive maintenance or as part of a brake job.

There are three ways to check the condition of the brake fluid:

changed out manual transmission fluid at under 1000 miles because synthetics are way better than factory fill. Lot less notchy during cold weather

How about diff oil? My Ford dealer told me I needed to change it this summer. I only have 27k on my car now. Doesn't sound right to me.

Usually speaking, diff and manual transmission fluids should be changed every 30k.
