Maybe he was mistaken, I dont know.

I cant find any reference to the Sync2 (myFord Touch) being OTA update-able anywhere on the web, and its mentioned as a 'new' feature specifically for Sync3.

It just started doing it by itself :shrug: I never actively looked through nor initiated anything on any menu. It was a screen with 'updating sync2' and a bar to signify some sort of download.

FWIW, on the MyFord portal, my car is showing as having an update on 22-May (whilst at the dealer), but its still running the same 3.08 firmware it always has been, so it must be something much more minor and behind the scenes.

If LS or anyone else has a FW version higher than 3.08, that would be very interesting.

Connected it up to my phones hotspot and was quite quick to say no updates.

Yes, once per year.

F6 map should be out now I think.

Should do as there are tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Sync 2 fitted Ford's in the UK alone. But then, should do, and Ford, don't always go together.

Edit: looks like we are on version 7! Although not sure these are Sync 2 compatible :shrug:

Looked at them, think they're for Europe some say western europe, turkey etc on them.

Tom Tom on their maps now give FREE lifetime maps, seems Ford are charging for something which should be free
As for the Sync 3, don't think there has been any updates for ages, where Tom Tom would update 4 times a year
