I think you may be pleasantly surprised when you see it in person. Having the car in front of you makes you see it as a whole. It all seemed to work together for me.Sometimes I'll see a pic and I'll think "I guess it doesn't look that bad after all", then I look at a different set of pics (like these) and I just want to know who signed off on this new subaru front end and why. And they seriously couldn't come up with a better hood vent design??
Yeah, I'm still not a fan of them. 15-17 were definitely better IMO.Thank you for posting the close ups. Still hate the god awful hood vents, new hood would be on of the first mods.
For the record, I wasn't trying to stir up any rumors. I think he was a bit clueless.2 things.
The 15-17 design is timeless imo. In no way, shape, or form does it already look dated. It's still one of the best looking cars out on the road. I don't see that changing anytime soon.
Also, the ONLY chance that a 6 cylinder ecoboost will be in the Mustang line is if they get RID OF the v8. V6 ecoboost and the GT have about the same power output. They wouldn't want any stepping on toes.
That could happen. The new DI coyote is substantial. One other thing I forgot to add. A Ford rep mentioned that they were probably going to come out with a 6 cyl Ecoboost. I said "Really? A Mustang? I'd heard the 6 cyl was being discontinued." He said no, he was pretty sure they'll be coming out with a 6 cyl Ecoboost. I didn't press him because he was obviously full of it. It's amazing how a rep can be so misinformed.
Nah, you are good man. My post wasn't bashing you or him, but just my opinion on the situation. I think he was clueless as well. Getting the GTs mixed up lol.For the record, I wasn't trying to stir up any rumors. I think he was a bit clueless.
The reaction has completely been overblown on here, but the rest of the world has been fine about it. Most can't even tell the difference and yes it looks like a 15-17 because it still is 90% a 15-17.Went to the Rochester Auto show yesterday to see the '18 Mustang in the metal. I wanted to see for myself how different the front looked, as well as any gaps in the new hood vents and how prominent the new brake air vents look. I really think the reaction to the front has been hugely overblown. But that's me. Standing there looking at it was VERY much like looking at a 15-17.
As for the hood vents, in photos it looked like there were gaps between the vents and the hood itself. I was happy to see that what appeared to be gaps were just shadows from the beveled edge of the vents. Photos attached.
The brake air vents don't come across as large as they appear in photos. It also helps if the color of the car is darker.
You're prob thinking of this one with the black package.Rochester NY? 2 weeks ago at the Syracuse Auto show ford had a white one with a blacked out roof. it almost looked like the black accent package. But i would have love to see it in blue. The lower grill does look meaner, but i still like the 15-17 after seeing in person. but unless your a mustang geek like us no one will ever know.
That's why they never use Black cars.;)Great photos, thank you
I appreciate these show cars probably get very dusty and are likely wiped down regularly, but look at the swirls and holograms in the paint :(
