Todd would you be willing to take a picture right above your left front wheel for me? I am obviously going to have to go to battle most likely.. I don't need names or anything but the more I have the better. This is my first time owning a Ford. My father hated them in the early 80's so I was a Chevy man growing up... I finally decided to take the plunge.... Thank you in advanced.

Ryan
Ryan - sure. No issues taking the pictures. What exactly do you want in the pictures? I know you said right above the left front fender...

I posted a ruby red thread just in hopes I can get more pictures. Thank you all. I really really appreciate it. I am in a really bad place right now with my car....

That type of chipping is the reason I put on splash guards. I can't really vouch for how well they work, but based on some mathematics, I have deduced the splash guards should theoretically save a good portion of the paint, unless physics breaks completely.

I also did stone guard to the rear fender in front of the rear tire. The dealer didn't get the hint that I wanted it extended down to bottom of the lower rocker, so the fender looks good (no discernible damage to the rock guard), but the rocker underneath has about 100 chips lol.

It's the sad truth about most new cars. Thin paint = cheaper + lighter. Not going to change. I've seen tons of those Ferraris and Lamborghinis in the mall for raffles that I've noticed have lots of rock chips (they're obviously used) and I know cars like that are hardly driven many miles in Canada in most cases.

n8, I doubt ford will do anything for paint chips. The cabin is so well insulated that you won't hear most of the rocks hitting you. I would look into some Dr. Colorchip. Get the road rash kit. Here's a pick of mine that I did yesterday. This was just one coat and took all of 5 minutes.

Even if they're not rock chips, they look enough like rock chips that I suspect you'll have a hell of an uphill battle to get Ford or the dealership to take the hit on repair costs.

Ive had my ruby red for 7 months now, i have 2 small chips on very front but expected in desert NM roads. Nothing of that nature on fenders, that does looks like debris damage tho.

Thank you for your info. I drive it to work and back.. Nothing even close to bad roads and it is locked up in a secure parking lot with security at work and then it is in my garage other than that... No debris has hit it that I am aware of.

I have ruby red and have nothing like that at 2500 miles. i do have a rock chip just on the hood, but it is expected. I could do the clear bra, but that takes away from the SC money, so...:D

Ill be surprised if Ford does anything....Looks like road rash....Once Ford denies your claim and you cool off, get some Dr Colorchip and fix it...

Just be thankful that you dont have a Lexus or Toyota....It would be a lot worse than what you have....based on my experience....
