Pete said you were fast, even if you did make him a little scared - great driving.

I did have to apologize to him about that... First lap without anything in front of me to judge pace into the esses and I turned in without lifting. I made it, but that was RIGHT on the edge and really dumb in hindsight.

I'm not brave/stupid enough to ride around in a car going 140+ mph, we have brave instructors!

LOL nah, yours wasn't bad. That's a pretty solid time!

Nice laps guys! All times updated to this point. Let me know if I missed anybody.

And, as promised here is the video from TGPR last weekend. 1:06 lap footage starts at 12:05 if you just want to see the lap.

I was anxious to try my new square setup at this track since I have been here before. Unlike Streets of Willow where I first tried my new setup, I had nothing to compare it to. I decreased my time over 4.5 seconds when I was on my stock wheels and O.E. Pirelli tires, so that's a win. I still have some handling issues to work out plus the usual driver mods.

Coming off a ruff rainy weekend at NCM that only had 3 drying to dry sessions I decided to run two days later at Gateway to get rid of some of my depression over a crappy track weekend. At NCM I had an issue with the drivers side PCV injesting oil and laying down a smoke screen so after adding a catch can to that side of the PCV I wanted to test the car and make sure the problem was solved. The first session out I puffed out another smoke cloud from the oil that was laying in the manifold and from then on it was smooth sailing. I ran the 1:09.33 in the last session just before I ran over a 1/2" bolt and punctured a rear tire. Thank goodness for the TPMS as I did not feel it going down until it was almost flat but the warning came up on the dash long before that so I was able to putt my way around the track and into the pits. I will try again next month and see if I can improve my time as I believe the car will run a 1:07 or 1:06 in the right conditions.

This is why I run a driver side catch can, even if it hasn't picked up much at all yet. Like I haven't even needed to empty it since I put it on... but, prevention is the best medicine!

I agree but after two years and running this thing fairly hard this is the first issue I have had with it, maybe since the car has about 9500 miles on it now the motor is loosening up a bit and generating more crack case pressures. NCM is a hard braking track as well so oil pooling in the heads will be thrown up to the PCV port under braking.

Anyway it is a simple fix but I was crapping my pants when it first happened thinking the motor was done.

Yep, happened to me last year at Memphis with @SVTDSM right on my ass after the long right hand sweeper. He was probably as freaked out as I was since it looked like something out of spy hunter.

Mine happened with SVTDSM sitting in my passenger seat, maybe he was the issue for both of us. :D

Haha, I'd say more freaked out than you. I've never changed my racing line so fast in my life!
