Maybe this is my front clunks. I had a shim, but as i didn't want to run the shim, i cambered the wheels a bit out. so you can do either. I'm tempted to go back to shims and camber it back in to see if that's what the clunk is, incase my wheels (x10" wide) are catching on the front when turning wheel
From what ive read, 9" is the biggest you can go on the front without clearance issues. would explain your problems with 10" wheels.

About right, they clear fine to be honest, they were fine for a while, but post track session I have a feeling alignment may have come out a bit and 'causing the issue, as I didn't have any before

I spoke to Pedders yesterday about a sketch of the shock top to save me having to buy them now. All they would tell me is that they were looking into making top mounts for the shock??

So, I asked for a little discount for some good feedback on here and elsewhere and for me making their product more useable as I will enable uprated top mounts to be used.

They declined, about as much use as a one legged man in an ass kicking competition!!

So, I called Dave at GT101 and got them ÂŁ50 cheaper than Pedders own price anyway!! Thanks Dave!!

That's good then, if you told me you were talking to pedders, I'd have passed you on my contact. They offered a discount on coilovers for a few people after I got mine, so worth asking if that was still around, but it was about ÂŁ75 so I guess you're not missing much thanks to dave!!!

Let us know when top mounts are sorted, i'll be first on the list (I'm totally not trying to find a reason to do more mods....)

Quite annoyed to hear that as I told them I was a member on here, on Facebook and Instagram.

They offered discount on ARB's which are more expensive than Eibach anyway!!

As for the conversion parts I need PMs please. I need to know which version of Steeda top mounts you have as well as there are two different thread options on the Steeda nut. I may need your nuts for a small mod to them anyway. :headbang:

Same as hinch, I've got pedders, no top mount. I'll get whatever you tell me works bud.

That's good then. The kit will be cheaper if you dont need the nut.

@Myweepony is relating to these: (if you wanna sell me your set and I can test them happy to roll around on the floor in the freezing cold ;))
Take a look at this post. I got some spacers made up, I think all the info is there. If not just ask.
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/show...t=87590&page=2

I haven't got round to fitting them yet, it'll probably be spring now. It's a bit cold to be rolling around the yard floor at the moment.

The picture of which bushings to clock is in the sticky of the suspension section in the main forum.
It was me that got Steeda to make a custom set. Basically, the special nut which attaches the damper to the spherical bearing is machined to M10 x 1.25.

I haven't fitted to the car yet but have done a dry run assembling the bits.

When using the supplied spacer the special nut only has about half it's threads engaged when torqued up. This seems a little on the low side to me,

So I'm getting some spacers made. 25mm O/D x 26mm length with a 14mm hole drilled through the centre. These will fit over the plain section of the damper mounting rod, below the threaded section. The Steeda special nut then engages just about it's total thread length when torqued up.

Haven't got the bushes just yet but don't see why it won't work.

There's also pictures towards the end of that thread.

When I bought mine Steeda just put the special nuts inside a standard set of M10x1.5 and left the old nuts in the box, so I can still use the set for the standard dampers.

Any machinist should be able to make a set using 21mm hex bar. 21mm hex bar is quite rare though. I'm not sure of the dimensions as I don't have a micrometer, so you'd have to give the machinist a standard nut to copy. I doubt you'll get a drawing from Steeda, I asked a number of times. I got a bloke on Ebay to make the bushings out of stainless, but whoever makes your nuts will be able to make the bushings as well. Find a buddy with a lathe and they could be had for pennies.

I've had a brief look at it all and it would appear that I will make a conversion which will use the stock nut and two custom top hats per side.

I'll add pics here when I've done the prototypes.

is this based off the steeda mounts for the factory dampers ? if so i'll get a set ordered as I can use them straight away on the pp dampers until I order the pedders stuff in the new year.
