Random thought here; why do people write "RWHP" as in "rear wheel horsepower" on rear wheel drive cars? I get "whp" vs "hp" to designate whether it's crank power or power at the wheels but why bother designating that the wheel horsepower is from the rear wheels on a rear wheel drive car?

One might argue "maybe the person converted it to AWD" but I'm sure something that substantial of a platform change would have come up in prior discussion or in fact be the title of the discussion.

Cheeky and accurate. I miss those cars, they were a hoot. Shame that Mazda is all serious business now and consider the Speed3/6 to be "childish".

I bought a new Speed3 in 2012 , I loved that car, I wish I still had it, but traded it on the Mustang . If I could of only kept both.

That's a great silver too. I do not envy you the choice you had to make. I turned in a car I despised

I miss my ST. It was a ton of fun, but I was upside down in it and needed a truck while they were rebating them $17,000 last year. It up the equity and then some so I got the truck. Then missed having a fun daily and thanks to covid’s stupid high trade in values I traded the truck for my GT. But I miss that ST

On topic - how people describe wheel horsepower tends to follow the type of drivetrain of the car. RWHP being rear drive, mostly domestic guys. WHP being FWD or AWD.

it’s hard to understand why the ST was such a great daily if you haven’t had one. It was truly just a joy to drive. Quick enough to be fun and row through the gears without go to jail speed almost immediately. Lol

That’s a great way to describe it, haha. It’s like a go kart you can drive to work. Lol.
