We spent a stormy night on the coast parked about 200 yards from the beach. The next day I was shocked to see this. I know it's just surface rust and it wore off after just a few stops. But looking at the other cars in the parking lot I didn't see any rust on brake disks. It was just shocking to see so much noticeable rust after just sitting overnight.

Anyway, as soon as we got home, about 60 miles inland I took it through a touchless car wash with undercarriage wash.

Every car I've ever had has done this. It's normal as stated above, but it's also not a Ford or Mustang thing only.

My Challenger had the same look when it spent a few nights up in Tillamook/ Rockaway Beach

We have to be careful on the suggestions made :)

I remember someone followed a suggestion about ensuring
your oil drain plug is reinserted and mounted properly and securely,
so they put red loctite on the threads. It is secure now,

but it will be the last oil change off that oil pan!!!!!!!

Wow! I've never seen that in New Mexico!
