As someone who just traded in a 2015 TLX with the 8 speed double clutch tranny (which is shared by other car manufacturers) I can tell you strait up that autos with more then 6 gears suck and suck hard. Besides having a clunking issue enough to pop the hood up a bit, the thing is *terrible* on gears. I couldn't imaging a 10 speed auto (unless the thing had serious intelligence to be able to skip 4 gears when you stomp it). When you stomp the things to accelerate it gets confused and may shift one gear which is not enough, then you wait for it to shift another (to get RPM's up). You end up waiting 3 seconds for the thing to shift into power. I'll never own another.

Was hoping the 10-speed would arrive MY2017, especially for EU sales it should have been here yesterday.

Simon that is not quite true in 1974 there was on the 2.3l 4cly and a 2.6 l v6. there was no V8 option. It did return in 1975. I personally would not like to see the V8 go away, but would like them to offer the 2.7 eco as a mid engine option.
True, I admit that I missed that, but Ford rather quickly realised how bad of a decision it was :D .

Forget about the Auto, when is the 7 speed manual coming? I would love to have a highway mpg as the corvette :headbang:

Dont know why people assumed Ford Mustang going to get 10sp. I think 10sp are for suv, trucks etc..
For Mustang auto 7sp is the most i would wanted, any more than that is a joke

You can still hope. Nothing is official.

I highly doubt Ford is going to let from October/November of '14 to Sept of '17 with no refresh of the Mustang with nothing new on it. '16 MY was just some packages and Sync 3. '17 needs something major.

Dodge has an 8 speed. Chevy has an 8 speed. Ford is behind the ball here on the Auto Transmission.

dodge has already said 2018 will be their last v8's
FCA is in real trouble. They don't have a single hybrid or electric motor. They have 9 years to be in compliance with 54.5mpg CAFE standards. That's why you see their people in public begging Ford or GM to partner with them. They can't spend the money on R&D when they have to buy back millions or billions of $ worth of Rams, either.

The auto in the mustang is the same as the f150. If they get the 10 I bet mustangs do to.

They will. The 10 speed will debut in the 17 F-150, but it's going in the Super Duty and the Mustang after that. Taking almost 900# of torque in the 6.7 bodes well for FI Mustangs.

I honestly think we're going to see the 3.5EB/10 speed combo transfer to the Mustang as the GT power train before the end of this generation. I do think we'll get a few MY's of a 5.0/10spd though.

I think the Raptor switching to the EB is a huge sign of the times...

I think models like the Mach 1/GT350/GT500 etc will have a V8 at its core..

But it wouldn't shock me if the $35,000 GT has a TTV6..
