Roush vs Shelby

I agree, the resale sucks! I see so many of them on the lots on Ebay ect.. I had one years ago but now I would not get one.

I have to agree that you can't miss with either a Roush or a gt350. I have a close friend who works in Livonia for Roush. Roush is first class and they know there shit. I do think the Roush is more of a street beast with good handling while the gt350 is quite different in more ways than one. Some sports car, some gran touring, some muscle. More balanced and definitely a bit better investment.

I agree with everything posted above except the last statement. Looks are subjective and I'm sure some like the looks a lot. I prefer the GT350

But, Roush is very good to its customers and knows how to make them feel Special. Mike Rey does a great job with the Roush road crew and Jack and jack Jr are super people that could not be nicer. So, that is a part of Roush that people value

This is something recently that has started with Team Shelby do to the efforts of Tracey Smith. And with Aaron Shelby coming on board, I think TS will be in the same position except, Ford has and still does produce Shelby's

But I will never knock Roush, first class people

Over many decades Jack and his team has developed a terrific reputation for being first class people but with all due respect are you suggesting that us enthusiasts would actually buy a Roush Mustang over a GT350 based on how good the people are at Roush compared to dealing with other people at a Ford dealership?

I have friends who own various stages of Roush cars and they certainly enjoy their cars but unless I am missing something the GT350 is much more sought after for many reasons with one of which being a better value up front and will continue to command a better return years down the road.

You bought a GT350 over a Roush or Shelby America Mustang for obvious reasons and no different than most of us on this forum.

Bottom line is it is very difficult for Jack or Gary to compete with the FMC on price let alone the exclusivity of the GT350/GT350R's.

If my wife said I need to get rid of a vehicle, which she never would, but ,,, I'm keeping my Shelby. I'd get rid of my 15 Roush SC'ed GT/PP with out a doubt. I just don't discredit Roush cars as much as some. They can only build on what Ford gave them, and they did a great job. 725hp is a very good number! They could get more out of it if they weren't so intent on staying 50 state legal. The handling is still very good, again they can only build on what Ford gave them. As far as the stick on scoops, car manufacturers have been doing it for years. Plus they can sell those stick on scoops to people who just want to mod the body. How many front covers do you think Roush sold to just Mustangs guys. Little harder to do that with the Shelby. I just went the other way and bought the engine stuff no plastic.
All and all though we're talking Apples to oranges, no comparison Shelby GT 350 is far superior. IMO

Caballus, we have a red Warrior Edition here on base in England. Pass it every day on the way to the post office. 670 hp is tempting... Although the $64K asking price isn't.

Saw one in England (Mildenhall) a few months back. Can't remember the price. Not sure why it's 64K there and only 42 in Germany. Must be some serious packages on the 64K version.

42? Are you sure? That is a steal if it has the 670 hp supercharger on it.

42 makes sense if its minus the blower package. Car should have two stickers as well. Another one with the "Warrior Package" add ons.

No other sticker, but probably part of the "marketing approach." If you have to ask, then you have to talk to a sale rep. I'm sure you're right...

I actually own a 2006 Roush 'sport' (legit Roush, not a clone). I added KenneBell blower, Roush suspension, Foose+Nitto shoes, bunch of other stuff. It's an awesome looking car, turns heads everywhere I go, local car shows, never driven in rain or any weather. Adding a matching GT350 to it (even same color scheme), but the GT350 will be my daily driver (assuming I can find good snow tire+wheel combo)..

Well I know i'm a week late here but......

Roush has a price problem.

RS2 (GT) - $11000
RS3 (GT + Blower) - $22500

On top of the car.

The RS2 is all the exterior stuff. The RS3 is all of that plus the blower. No suspension or brake upgrades, no CAI for the RS2, etc.

If you price it all out via their own pre-painted parts you can literally build your own identical car to a Roush minus the serial number, decklid panel, stripes, and gauge faces for:

RS2 - $7717
RS3 - $14,816

(My own build cost me $5,071 so far for the same, and added "optional" stuff like the heat extractors, a different shift knob, coil overs, different wheels/tires, and for the same money with roush where you just get mufflers, i got an entire catback)

So for the RS2, you can build your own with all of their parts, and even go as far as floor mats, door sills, etc. and still be 4 grand less than half the price for a serialized RS2.

But look at that profit of margin for the RS3. Build your own for under 15k or pay $22.5k.

whew..... The serial number just isn't worth that cost for me, call mine a Foush all you like, I'll proudly own it.


Just remember with the Roush if you want active exhaust, anything but stock GT grade intake, or suspension it's all on top of the prices I've posted and none of it is "cheap" They aren't all based on GT Performance Pack cars either, so you could potentially be buying a nasty RS3 with base GT brakes if the car wasn't specced right.

Like Tim stated, Tracey Smith is a Wonderful person who is passionate of the Shelby. Aaron Shelby is coming on board and is another great person at Shelby. Met both of them at the Shelby Bash, March 2016 and had a wonderful time.
