Decided that my next mod will be a CAI. The two I'm deciding between are the Roush and the Airaid. I'm leaning more towards the Roush because of the price and the aesthetic.

My question is which CAI will give me a better sound and is the closed box design of the Airaid a significant advantage over the Roush design?

Not sure about Roush, but my brother has the airraid CAI and I have the k&n CAI from American Muscle and mine makes more noise. From what I've herd, roush sounds really good.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the major offerings. It really comes down to which one looks best under the hood :)

I also have the K&N. A side benefit of removing the stock airbox and having a CAI is you can easily reach the oil filter from up top.

I assume not, but if you get CAI do you need to get a tune with it or you can just get CAI by itself?

All the CAIs out for the V6 now can be installed without a tune and you will see a slight gain, however if you do get a tune you will capitalize on the intake more and get a bit more out of it.

Both are excellent , but my nod goes to Roush Performance. As close to OEM as you can get. Had a Roushcharger on my 2014 with phase 2 upgrade...................:headbang:

Ordered from AmericanMuscle used coupon code icehorse10 for $10 off and free ground shipping, ended up being $280 shipped. I will certainly make a video however my exhaust is very loud and will likely over power it ;)

:headbang::cheers:

thanks! looking forward to it.

side note, 1000 miles in I just ran over a curb with rear right tire, scraped small plastic back tire guard and about an inch scrape on the metal lip next to the plastic guard! :doh:

I had an Airraid CAI in my 2012 v6 and it sounded awesome. But, I am also concerned about the closed design on the CAI for the s550. Perhaps, Roush might be the way to go this time around?

From what I read everyone who got the Roush loved it and said it sounded great. I'll let you guys know as soon as I throw it on.
