Anyone have the Roush CAI on their S550? What are the power and sound improvements (if any) like? So far I like it better than the Airaid because it's cheaper and has the Roush name.

I went with the K&N brand instead. Sound improved a lot IMO. Almost bought the Roush one. Looks better IMO but after reading up on both ultimately went with the K&N.

I have the Roush and like it a lot. Super easy to install. The sound is great, I thought it made the car sound noticeably deeper and 'airy'.

I haven't dynoed the car or anything but the car seemed to perform better immediately after the install. More lower end torque and just overall quickness. Could be a psychological thing though.

What I'm saying is if you get it you won't regret it. I'm sure the other options are good as well though.

I just think roush's looks kinda funny with that big ol bowl haha. I do like the design of the pipe though, has a massive bell mouth on the end and that's great for making hp/tq

On my car it actually made the car feel a little sluggish. I've considered taking it off but I really like the sound it added. I also like that it looks a lot like the GT350 intake.

Here's a photo. Had it on since 7/30/2015 when they were released. Sounds great and a big difference in performance.

I'm curious why you say there was a big difference in performance? I had the opposite happen so I wonder if there were other variables.

Opposite right after install or after some time? Usually right after install the car can feel a little bogged down for the first few hours while the cars computers adjust things like A/F ratio, etc

Other variables could have been outside temp. If his was installed in cooler whether then yours, or he lives in a place generally cooler, he would have a more positive "butt dyno". At the end of the day, none of these designs are "CAI's", they are Ram air intakes with a heat shield. On a hot day, they suck in hot air. More air? yes, but hot air which leads to higher IAT's and the cars computer trying to adjust accordingly.

On my last 5.7 charger, I tried about 12 different intakes, monitored IAT readings, A/F etc, and when it was all said and done I went back to the factory airbox with a green drop in filter. I am only entertaining a ram air intake on my mustang since I dont plan on doing a full exhaust, as I like to hear something when I floor it

Sorry it took so long for me to put this up. Here's a video of my car right after installing the Roush CAI. Mind you, this is immediately after install so the engine hasn't done it's recalibrating thing. Gives an idea at least though.

For the Performance. It all depends on how your driving style is. If you never get the engine over 3,000 RPM. Then you should not bother buying a CAI. Roush has posted a Dyno Chart and it shows up to 10 HP.
You cannot feel this in the seats of your pants by stop and go. But, you can tell next time trying to slide around a corner. Get the revs up and compare the difference.

I would like to see a tube attachment for a True CAI. It's probably as close as they could get.

Which CAI lost performance? Please let us know so that we can pass the word around.

I have the Roush definitely recommend it. Took no time to install. It definitely changes the sound when I jump on it and I noticed a performance gain as well.
