Roush tips rusting?

any dd car will develop rust.

Oh well that's it then. Just live with it.
In itself thats not a silly statement. of course a car driven daily will eventually get rusty but rust on exhaust tips after a few months is not acceptable.

However, I do feel after ready the sensible posts that it looks like deposits have settled on the tips and rusted rather than the tips themselves rusting.

i have driven 2000 000 miles dude..all dd cars will rust..exhaust tips aswell.
in fact i rekon i have driven closer to 3000 000 miles in my life.owned about 30 cars. owned 20 company vans.driven non stop in london 7 days a week for 15 years.i did 500 000 miles in my 1989 bedford midi alone
owned about 30 motorbikes
dd cars will rust..my 2015 transit connect is rusting already

@kapiteinlangzaam no they aren't. They get too hot, the paint will melt and bubble. Even with heat proof primer, you're looking at a very very very short life span of painting them - Unless it's a high temp enamel style paint like caliper paint or radiator paint - even then, it needs ot be suitable up to exhaust temps, which is stupid fking hot ;)!

Can coat it in fords underseal.... :lol: (DOn't do that it's flammable)

if it was me i'de just make it up and spray some ht paint on them after some rubbing with steel wool
if you want your car to stay immaculate u have to work on it..when i detail my cars i always polish round the tips.
spray them up and keep them lightly oiled in future

dude not many have the experience i have at driving i tell ya.
from 1987 to about 2005 i worked 7 days a week in london..
been a petrol head for almost 40 years now..
when it warms up i'll show you the rust on my 2015 transit connect..pos these vans but it's my company van so i dont care.
one thing that amazes me on forums is the problems i get with know all english people..on the camaro forum i have been on for years never had anyone try like this..the americans are great to chat with.same on hifi forums..soon as the english post it's dick heads posting the same ole cack

I've let a specialist powdercoat a few Mustang exhausts now (satin black and gloss black so far). They're all holding up perfectly so far. He had some extra work working the tips to make sure the coating stuck well cause of the high quality steel some of those tips have. The once I had done all had 304SS tips. So if yours are too, shouldn't be a problem at all to powdercoat them! Then again: if it's 304SS, it shouldn't rust at all. :shrug:

Can't imagine they'd spent money on making everything in 304, then forget the tips So like Guy said, throw a magnet on them and you'll know!

Oh man, now I'm worried bout my RAB's. Will check on them tonight, however, only done around 1500 miles on them since Oct.
Just wondering, the tip's can surely be replaced if they show real bad signs of rusting... But if you do need to replace them, are they covered under warranty if they show signs of rust??
