ROUSH stage 2

Decided to go with the Roush Stage 2 SC on my 2019 GT convertible. Not sure if the tarrifs going into effect tonight Sept 8 at mid night affect these parts but if they do the price will be +50% tomorrow. Found one on a Labor Day Sale.

Found the Roush to be almost 4K cheaper than the whipple. So i can purchase it, have it installed by my local Roush dealer for 2K less than just the cost of the whipple.

The Roush takes the s550 coyote to an advertsed 750 hp the Whipple is 810 hp. 4K for 60 hp it not worth it to me.

Did consider buying a 2026 Dark Horse SC but i don't like its dash. I really dont thimk the car is worth the MSRP at lessg not to me. In my opinion the Mustang badge and legacy is going to take a big hit when Ford turns it into a 4dr sedan. I dont want to be sitting on a 120K+ Mustang when it shares its badge with a 4dr sedan. The hit it took with that EV was bad enough. I get that this new generation of Mustang buyers will probably like it. But I am a boomer and sports cars and muscle cars had 2 DOORS.

If someone needs a ROUSH COI i now have two. Lol.

I im wondering what the hood clearance is. The brace between the strut towers is important for convertibles. I will seek modifications to keep it in place if possible. Any recommendations or ideas appreciated.

Not really concerned about heat soak at all. It won't be getting pushed hard. I have a few friends that have ran the Roush systems for years with no heat soak issues at all. Apparently these new versions have 40% more cooling.

The “40% more cooling” is due to the larger intercooler design on the “Phase 2” Roush 2650 for Gen 3 Coyote.

If the car is strictly a weekend toy and you do not plan on driving aggressively or tracking the car you will be fine.

Otherwise, you may consider e85 which will make more jam and also less heat soak.

Or, the end all be all solution is what I’ve done and that’s e85 plus the FI Interchiller kit.

I NEVER experience heat soak even on track in the hottest part of summer…

I am in Canada we don't get the heat often experienced in the southern states. Its never track driven at all, maybe a couple nights at the local drag strip. So far this year its been driven less than 4000 klm. I can't even buy E85 here. I run 91 premium.

For your use, the Roush should be fine. If you aren't trying to be the fastest car on the drag strip, all is ok. I have been happy with mine.

No, just like to make a couple passes for fun on a street car night at the local track. The car is only driven a couple thousand miles a year, it's parked for the 7 month Canadian winters and never even drivin in the rain. Hest soak is not a concern.
