Good to hear. You'll have to give us an update on your thoughts when you get some more miles on her. Does the auto feel like it's shift speed got faster or more firm?

Does this tune give you a bump in fuel cutoff RPM? I'd always thought the factory tune cutoff was 7k, but a few posts back with the dyno chart, it looks like it's 6800, and goes up to 7k?

Did the dealership give you a backup of your original file or if you flash yourself using the Roush RDT software does it allow you to make a backup of the original file first?

Agreed. It's amazing that you could go buy a Rousch Stage 3 Mustang with a 670HP blower set up and get a full factory warranty from Ford but you can't get a 19HP tune without having to re up for the remaining part of your warranty....kinda halfassery if you ask me.
Technically you have to buy it still. But $495 for $8k setup ok. $495 for a $800 CAI/tune just sounds wrong.

I wouldn't pay $500 for a few months of warranty, unless I had the money to drop on a SC setup that would truly have some added stress on the engine. Ford Racing claims their tunes are conservative and thoroughly tested. I seriously doubt a CAI and tune done right would have any adverse effect on the engine.
Well I wouldn't be worried about stress from this tune, just warranty issues.

Just so you guys know, I believe ford's powertrain warranty is 5 years/60,000 miles. The 3 years/36,000 miles is for everything else. Don't know why roush says otherwise. I would hope its a mistake because then you're paying money to lose 2 years off the factory warranty.
Yeh you lose some powertrain. If you wanted to supercharge ok that's one thing and you're going $8-10k all in, but for a tune/CAI not worth it IMO

I think you misunderstood what I was explaining. I was talking about buying a new Rousch Mustang with the supercharger already installed, not buying the Rousch supercharger itself.....but yes, it is wrong that they want $495 for an $800 mod installed by factory trained technicians that adds 25HP.

My thoughts on this is that it should be a great tune, the Ford / FRPP will be the exact same just a different badge as Ford/Roush/FRPP are neighbours and work very closely together.

My theory is this will be great because it will simply work just like a Whipple tune works, the calibration is written by Ford/Roush engineers and the car adjust power accordingly to octane rating automatically, no need for specific octane tune as the ECU on our cars has settings within it then when enabled allow it to automatically pull or remove timing within reason, so if you fill with 91 you will make so much power, fill with 93 maybe a bit more and then fill with 87 less, but no running issues and no need to datalog.

Its a proper tune that is safe and written by the people who manufactured the engine, so nice and safe.

I'd personally go tune only with a panel filter. :)

P.S. You can flash yourself no need to go to Ford or Roush, just download Roush RDT software, install puma drivers and get a universal OBDII J2534 cable for $30 and do it from your laptop.
Even with current Windows?

Ive got the software installed on my laptop which is Windows 10 Pro and it seems to load just fine and is ready to connect to the car, the latter I have not tried yet.

Cool Thanks.
You know how some Windows were affecting tunes.

I wouldn't be surprised if the forthcoming Ford Performance (racing) tune doesn't force you to purchase an additional warranty - I sort of doubt it covers anything beyond the first 36k though. Anxiously waiting... for my goals, it may make more sense to just swap the rear gears and try to lighten the rotational mass in the driveline with a driveshaft and wheels - I expect even an extended warranty would still have to cover the short block.

Hey Mike. I assume the new one will be the same warranty stuff as the 2011+ GT track tune.

Hi there

Am tempted by this but I already have a corsa sport catback and prefer idea of keeping the stock factory air box and say just put a panel filter in there.

So if I just go with the $399 tune option will I just got the quoted figures? I mean do Roush alter the tune at all for those going with their axle backs in the stage 2 package. Or can I just get the regular tune and it will make a little more power as I already have a catback exhaust?

I have same question - is it a canned tune for all stages?

I would imagine the tune with air filter is different as it will be changed to accommodate the different maf tubing size on the Roush CAI.
