I can't expect it, but it wouldn't be an unreasonable business to business agreement between Roush, Steeda, or Ford Performance. The gripe is paying the same dollar amount for a less impactful tune as a supercharger, while going from 5/60 to 3/36 on the powertrain.
Better yet why does Ford back the Stage 3 Rousch Mustang with a 670 HP supercharger with a 5/60,000 warranty but not back a simple flash tune from the same company? If they trust the calibrations from Rousch so much why even delete the warranty? Me's starting to think this an additional profit maker from Rousch......

I just ordered the flash pack from a dealer and now realize I should of asked a couple of questions before hand.
1. I have the Steeda CAI w/ restrictor, should I have the shop remove the restrictor before they flash the car?
2. I have the FPRP Borla Touring Catback, will this work with the Flash?

Thanks!

Catback shouldn't be a problem. Let us know what you find out about the cai. I'm about to order the Steeda myself. What are you're thoughts on it. Any benefits, throttle response or any seat of the pants feeling? Also what are your thoughts about the warranty add on? Thanks.

I really like the Steeda CAI and my butt felt a difference however I only had about 3,000 miles when I did it, so not to much time to really learn the car.

Same here Steeda with insert. If the diamater of the maf housing is the same as the Roush intake then it should work. If the Steeda is larger then even with the tune you may get a lean a/f ratio. The tune needs to be adjusted for the diamater.

Wonder if there's a way to find out? I'm going with the Steeda primarily because it is better looking and you don't have to remove the sound tube, To me the Rousch looks like a giant dog bowl with a filter sitting in it.

I did a quick search but couldn't find any information of the size of the MAF but maybe one of the Steeda or Roush Reps. could let us know something??? I have also decided to go with the warranty because my car only has about 6800 on it, plus one of the guys from the dealer kept trying to talk me out of the flash and now I'm a little worried about what if they are right.

ford warranties roush stage three showroom cars because they make a large profit on one... they don't make anything when you buy a roush kit after the fact.

They make a large profit when you buy your Ford Mustang.....if they allow Rousch to take a Ford car, and modify it after the fact then stand behind it after it is sold why not trust Rousch enough to flash tune our cars without voiding the warranty?

their profit margin goes up with a roush car considerably, they don't just allow them to stick on parts and they don't make a cent on it.

Rousch purchases Mustangs from Ford....They do a pre title conversion...the cars are sold at Ford/Rousch Dealers....they both make profit. And Ford still 5/60's it....

Lots of misconceptions in this thread:

1) there is no 5/60K powertrain warranty from anyone on any modified car - period !

2) as soon as you drop in a tune or add a s/c, Ford is going to give you a hard time on any powertrain related warranty claim - this includes Roush, Petty's Garage etc. build cars sold thru Ford dealers

3) Roush warranties THEIR parts for 3/36 if you purchase a Roush build car or have the kit/performance bits installed by an authorized Roush installer

4) Roush covers all the components Ford is dropping coverage on for 3/36 IF you buy a car they built/modified (go here -->> http://www.roushperformance.com/vehicles/mustang-2016-stage3.html scroll down to the "Our Promise" section & click on the ROUSH Supplement Owner's Guide to read what is covered p.25 - p.40)

5) Roush covers the components Ford is dropping for 3/36 with the Kits & S/C's IF you buy their extended warranty & have them installed by an authorized Roush dealer. The extended warranties cost between $500 - $1000 depending on what you are installing. There is a link to the appropriate "Optional, Extended Warranty" in the product description/features list of each kit or S/C eligible.

6) Adding the 727hp, Phase II upgrade to ANY car (inc. the Roush build cars) voids even the Roush powertrain warranty.
