Hey my V6 peeps,
I called Roush today to get an ETA on the CAI for my V6, they said first week of March they will have them listed on their website. This is the CAI that doesnt need a tune. So I am really looking forward for this part.

I'll purchase the first available cause all CAIs don't make a significant difference, and the only time you need to ugrade it to something bigger is when you have alot more horsepower. Getting the cheapest one is IMO the best way to go, but it's relieving to see something is coming out, i've had the C&L on american muscle in my cart ready to buy for about 2 months now.

Anyone know how this Roush kit compares with K&N drop in filter for claimed or actual HP & torque gains?

One thing a CAI will get you that a upgraded filter won't is amazing induction sound when you get on the throttle. The best part is that it doesn't make it any louder when you're taking it easy (highway cruise, idle, etc.).

Ah, so just like in my early twenties back in the seventy's I would take the air cleaner off to hear that Quadrajet Sometimes. :)

if we want to just test to see if we like that sound without the stock air box, can we just remove the lid of the stock air box ( and the filter or just a lid ) and will that sound similar to completely open air filter kit? This would just be for a quick test if I removed the filter.

Unfortunately the intake is integrated into the lid, so it'd be difficult to do. I'd look at some youtube videos of 2011-2014 V6's to hear the difference.

Sharan, Roush said in another thread that they will only release their CAI in late SUMMER.Airaid, on the other hand, should have something ready for the upcoming couple of weeks.

:(

Closed box, plastic tube. There's a small performance benefit, but a big reason to get one is the sound. This one probably won't have that.
