I have 2 mustangs, a 2016 gt 5.0 auto fastback, fitted a Roush cat back with H pipe, sounds OK, my other one a 2017 convertible also 5.0 gt with manual box I fitted the same exhaust, but it's a lot louder, any ideas on why ? how can I quieten it, I've disposed of oem back boxes and resonator ?

Roush cat back comes with X-pipe, not H. Do you perhaps have one with H and one with X?

they both have H pipes, i specified H for the cat back and the convertible you have to buy axleback and X or H.
The general opinion seems to be no apparent reason why.
EBM`s suggestion that there could an exhaust leak could be the answer so i`m going to remove it and start again.
Thanks for all the posts, appreciated.

instead of removing you could just spray soapy water on it and look for bubbling.

Thanks for all replies i think i might have the answer, visited a friend who has his own garage and he came up with a feasible answer, starting with the `17 cars some were fitted with sport cats, which answer the question !
