Installing a Roush cold air intake system on a 2023 GT it looks like yoy need to cut the engine cover.

No need to cut. I’ll send you a picture of mine once I do it tomorrow morning. The second suggestion is also good advice. If you’re going to go back to stock.

After cutting, use a heat gun to smooth the ruff cut edge and work to make the cutting area smooth. Use the scrap cut to get the hang of it.

LoL. Sounded like I was going to do the intake tomorrow morning. I meant take the pictures tomorrow morning. Mines been on since I bought the car. I had some help from some buddies and this is what we did. It’s just laying on top to be honest. I didn’t want to cut it so we did this. Now that I’ve looked at it as well as the engine bay I need to clean this thing really bad. My filter is overdue to be cleaned too.

Mine was installed by the previous owner. Totally unremarkable to me until your post. I looked at it, and thought it appeared normal. Here's how it looks, in case you want to consider just cutting around it.

It looks clean, it’s crowded but clean. If I was going to keep my plastics on I’d rather this then cutting them up. But that would be my preference. Now on another note, what are ya gonna do with all that dirt? Cultivate it or use it for cattle grazing?šŸ˜‚

I know right? I have let it get too far. There is a place near me where I can have them do it and then I will just have to be more proactive on keeping it up.

Im messing with you. I live out in the middle of nowhere, and I have to drive up a dirt trail. About an 1/8 of a mile to get to my property that is all dirt too. I know how hard it is to keep the dirt off your ride, and after a while you just shrug your shoulders. When I wash my car, I drive it home, and by the time it’s parked, it has a dirt film on it. I mean what can you do.šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

Can anyone confirm the roush intake fits a 2022? Their website only says up until 2021, but I assume there's been no real changes between 21 and 22?

The fitment is all the same. What is different for 2022 and 2023 is the stock calibration. From what I understand, the amount of air coming in from the Roush (and probably a few others) is different enough to throw off the stock calibration and cause some issues. I thought there was a post from someone on here that tried it on their 2022 and actually talked to someone at Roush about it. I’ll have to see if I can find it.
