Rob & v6j,
Any pics or video of the shorty header install would be much appreciated. Also, please tell us how the install went. Any special tool that was required or just made removing and replacing any dreaded 'one bolt you can' get to itis'. If there were any challenges in the process, let us know and how you got around it. :)

If you do the job just lifting front of car on two jack stands, did that cause any particular problems?

What was the cost w/shpg for Rousch axle backs. For (BBK?) shorty headers?
Thanks.

Ok so I got the axle backs on today, super easy install. The only advice I would give is BE CAREFUL WHEN CUTTING YOUR OLD MUFFLERS OFF! I came out with a few smashed fingers a scraped elbow and a bump on my head from the muffler falling on me lmfao. All said and done it took me 30 minutes.

On another note, I really hope the headers change the tone because the roush mufflers alone sound pretty ricey. I wasn't expecting that amazing "v8" sound but I wish they had a little bit of a lower tone but I'm sure the headers will fix that

Oh and for everyone asking there is no drone at all I was cruisin at 70 down the highway and couldn't even hear it unless I stepped on it. There is a very minor drone when going up hills but it's super minimal. I'll do another update when I have time to put the headers on

Can you backup the claims of increased performance?

Honestly, it doesn't seem as crazy as everyone is claiming. There is a noticeable difference at the bottom and a little up top. My 0-60 didn't change I'm still stuck at 6 but now I'm having traction problems which could be the new power at the bottom plus these Goodyear Eagles suck I really shouldn't have got them [emoji17]

Red & V6J,
Interesting that you two are going to the same outcome, but started from opposite ends. We will be very interested to hear your objective (as possible) opinions on describing the full range of sounds (and perceived power 2ndly) from your respective stage one to stage two exh. mods. Very cool. If you have time to do some sound videos of your stage one mods (idle and rev mid then high, then on the road from stop et al.*)

* I don't know how some guys are attaching video device on the backs of their cars (painters tape??) for the driving sounds, but it is the best for hearing real life sound under acceleration and strong decelleration.

Many videos do not free rev very high at all (don't need 7k! ;) or when driving go up to 5-6k rpm's then let off completely to hear the full effect/ cound of that particular set up. I don't know if some want to avoid conditions that that set up might not sound the best in. I hope you guys are willing to show us the good, bad (ass;o)) AND the ugly if it is there.

Big thanks in advance you ground breakers!

AND a PS... If you can hazard a guess from your experience of 'IF' you were to do just one mod (just axle back vs. just shorty header), which would you choose.

I'll do a sound clip tomorrow and try to run through all the paces, I've never edited a video let alone posted one before so it will be a new experience and hopefully I can put the headers on Saturday. I'm just not sure how much time I need to set aside and don't want to be stuck without a ride. (I work full time and go to school on my only two days off)

Seriously, I've been sitting at 6.0 since stock and I can't break it and now I'm having traction issues so it's usually at 6.5 lol it's definitely pulling harder than stock so I'm pretty sure it's the tires I put on it when I switched to 19's

The 19's probably didn't help either. Less sidewall to squish to get grip and more rotating mass unless they are significantly lighter than the stock wheels.

This video is with headers installed as well, right?

I wouldn't mind hearing that every morning.
