Roush Axle Back Removed,
After 100 miles I'm going to remove and replace the Roush Axle Back mufflers. It is my opinion they are too obnoxious to both me and my neighbors. The Roush do a have a nice deep sound and no drone but the sound is just not manageable on even light acceleration. I can't back out of my garage without turning heads.
Since I don't want to weld the old mufflers back on I'm thinking my best option here is to go with the Ford Touring to get back close to stock.

Do you want to sell them then?? I'm in FL as well. Maybe we could swap exhaust as well if your looking to go back to stock for now with no welding.

I can't believe they are that loud. We have the Ford Racing Sport catback and while they're loud, I gotten used to them and could never imagine going backwards. I have not heard the touring ones yet though except for YouTube videos, but they sounded too soft. I need to hear how the Roush axel back sounds as that was one of our options.

I have the axel back with the FRPP xpipe. It is a bit aggressive, but my neighbors have their loud wall rumbling stereos and screaming kids so they are going to deal with my exhaust. If I lived in a quiet neighborhood, I would certainly install a more quiet exhaust as to not be the instigating party.

The axlebacks are a bit loud on startup but not ear piercingly loud by any means. After about 6 months of owning it, I recently bought an H pipe to put on because I feel like the axlebacks alone sound like stock..

Roush Axle Back Lesson Learned

Wow now you guys have me worried. I was considering either the FFRP touring or the Roush axle back and have been told it is between the touring and FFRP sport in sound. From the videos, I was concerned the touring was going to be to close to stock. I didn't want to spend 1300 dollars to be just slightly above stock. I don't want obnoxious however. On still in for the Roush, but will be watching this thread closely.

I have a '13 Roush Stage 3 car that I bought new in 2013 with the stock Roush exhaust. The car is obnoxiously loud. :D

Didn't seem all that loud to me when I drove a '15 with them & it's what I'm putting on my '16 when it arrives. It gets loud at WOT but I assume you're not driving thru the subdivision @ full throttle ;)

If my neighbors complain, I'll recommend they eat a large bowl of MYOB !

I had roush axlebacks on my s197. They were loud to me. I swapped to gt500's. Not sure what the equivalent would be on the s550. GT500's + boss quad exhaust =AWESOME sound.
