I had Roush AB's installed initially, good volume but I thought the tone in high RPM's was lacking. Added an X-pipe and now its loud enough to wake the dead but its intoxicating.

Add me as a Roush AB fan. Just enough louder and deeper than stock to make me smile when I hit the gas.

The quad tips are nice looking but I don't want to change out the valance too. It sounds like doing just the axel backs from roush are the way to go.

Installed mine 2 months, could not be happier. Just received my h-pipe from Lethal, can't wait to install that.

I would recommend looking at the Roush AB + Resonator Delete from Lethal Performance. I had a friend who showed me it, it's really really loud when you step on it, a little more noticeable at idle, and there is little to no drone when compared to the stock system.

Rousch AB here and love it. I go back and forth with buying an H pipe, but its plenty loud enough for me as is. Its loud when you want it to be and quiet when you don't. No regrets on the purchase. I have not had the car long enough to experience really cold starts, but I think it's a little louder than once it's warmed up.

I like my Roush AB exhaust a lot.

Pros:
- Love the tone and volume, it's pretty loud when you're accelerating, or blipping the throttle.
- Sounds like a proper muscle car.

Cons:
- The fitment of the exhaust tips is not great. The exhaust tips are not centered with the exhaust bumper cutouts...also evident by nearly every picture/video i've seen on the internet.
- Non-car people will think your car is obnoxiously loud.

Currently have the Roush on mine, like everyone else said it really is the perfect balance if you don't want to go too crazy. Just a little loud at cold start, but that mellows out quickly. Nice, slightly aggressive tone when you get on it.

It really should have sounded like this from the factory, it sound's like what you'd "expect" an S550 to sound like (loud, but not annoyingly so).

That being said, I like annoying and will be picking up either a Corsa Xtreme or Solo Mach Thunder cat back very soon (wife will be getting my Roush AB's).

I will be going with the Roush axle-back. I like the classic muscle rumble without too much rasp, and I hate to be "that guy" with the obnoxious exhaust in my neighborhood.

From the sound clips i've heard(haven't heard one in person), it sounds just right to me. I feel like if I need more, I can always go with the resonator delete and that would def be enough lol

Best sounding exhaust in my opinion, but a lot of people don't like the raspy nature of the Roush. I love it, especially paired with a resonator delete. It screams rather than roars, and sounds more exotic than a traditional muscle car. It does rumble deep and echoey at idle though. When you floor it the back of your Mustang will seriously scream like a racecar, like, NASCAR loud. It's obscene how much sound this exhaust puts out, and when you WOT people will turn and look if that's your thing. It's either out of shock or admiration, depending on the audience.

Also one of the best parts is there is just about no drone. At 80 mph down the Interstate they fade into the background like an oscillating fan. Very well engineered exhaust system.

my roush with x pipe is loud as hell on cold starts. AB only you should be fine, drop it into gear right after you start it and it will force the RPMs down

Its been said that Roush AB's paired with an X-pipe is the loudest cat back set up for this car. I fully believe it. Best bang for your buck imho. Eventually I wouldn't mind getting an FRPP sport or a corsa catback second hand. I just cant justify over $1000 for an exhaust otherwise.
