I have the Roush AB and love the sound, but still something more exotic like Corsa Extreme. All the youtube videos with Roush AB and x-pipe sound too raspy at higher rpm and not exotic enough. Can anyone confirm it sounds better in person?

What about pairing the Roush AB with the double x-pipe? Has anyone tried this?

you would be going down from 3" to 2.5" if it makes a difference if you did that.

it's going to be raspy...that's just how it is. some hate, I love the exotic rasp.

I have been wondering the same thing. I have the Roush axle back and want a bit more volume out of it. Haven't had the opportunity to hear the Roush with a midpipe in person so I have to rely on videos, which never do it justice.

I am really interesting in if the double X would change the tone any.

I'm actually looking for MORE rasp. I plan on going to high flow catted headers soon. I know that my current set-up will be too loaud once the headers are installed. It's pretty quite until you get into it, then it gets really loud.

You guys are correct, videos do no justice, but here's one of mine.
3800rpm launch w/out tractional control. X-pipe with Roush axlebacks.

snd93, your video sounds better than most on youtube.

What I'm looking for is that exotic "metallic" sound of the Corsa Extreme. I don't know how else to describe it. Roush AB with x pipe, it's hit or miss, in some videos I hear the exotic metallic sound, in others all I hear is rasp. I'm hoping it's because the exhaust sound cannot be accurately recorded and played back? snd93, can you confirm that your setup sounds more exotic and metallic in person? Thanks.

I'm still really curious about Roush AB w/ double x-pipe...

Screwdgie, yea I'm wondering if double x-pipe would sound more exotic and metallic than x-pipe too.

snd93 More throaty and deep like with an h pipe. I only hear slight hint of metallic toward the end. Your setup sounds better, more exotic and metallic IMO. I do hear that metallic sound in your video, just not a lot like Khyber's Corsa video.

mustang87 Yes, it sounds more exotic and metallic in person. I'll see if I can get a few more sound clips of mine. I let my neighbor drive mine and honestly, it sounds a lot like Khyber's. I just googled this, I assume it's what you are refferring too?

snd93. Yes that's the video I was referring to. Really glad to hear you think yours sound a lot like his. Which x-pipe did you get? It probably shouldn't matter though.

I will probably go with an x-pipe, although I am really interested how the double X would sound. But that's a decent chunk of change to just give it a whirl. Especially if it ends up making no difference lol.

I was leaning towards an H-pipe with the Roush but most every video sounds blatty and flat sounding, if that makes sense.

Yea I was considering the H pipe too at first. But the x pipe setup grew on me and Corsa Extreme sounds godly. And plus, the exotic sound is more befitting of the new sporty image of the S500. Plenty of deep throaty mustang on the road.

Screwdgie I will probably stick with the x-pipe too, especially after hearing snd93's thoughts.

Thanks snd93. The x pipe is very affordable. How much did you pay for the install? I know this has been discussed before in other threads, but no drone for you right?

BTW I recently moved to Charlotte. I noticed you're in Fuquay. What's there? Seems like a tiny little town with not much going on.
