Is there any reason why the new Roush 2650 SC wouldn't bolt up to a 15-17 5.0?
I haven't followed up that much with the 18 model so I really don't know.
Don't both the 17 and 18 have the same block and head castings. Things like the roush intake and other secondary components should mount up fine.
The only thing that I think may not be compatible would be the tune but a Dyno shop can fix that.

What do you guys think?

Part of me thinks that roush is only marketing the 2650 to the 18's so they can sell off their 2300 inventory. I mean who would buy a 2300 when a 2650 is available..:frusty:

The 2650 has such a small inlet, I cant see how its efficient for higher boost. I'd personally wait and see what vmp comes out with for the 2018. I'm anxiously awaiting the new Kenne Bell design just to see if they go the same route as Whipple or go on a different path all together. The 2018 Hurst heritage has a 3.2 Kenne Bell but they never showed under the hood. remember Travis from Boostworks saying expect info in March but that has come and passed.

I'm not sure the reason why the 2650 won't fit the '15-17's, I'm sure we'll hear a reason sooner or later. The TB and CAI do kinda look like it might be tough to go bigger, but getting the Phase 2 727 kit for ours is more horses than this new model anyway. And you can add a bigger TB and larger CAI for room to grow. I have the Phase 1 with everything the Phase 2 has, plus headers, K2 filter, and a better tune. Not criticizing you wanting a 2650, not at all. But there are options with the Phase 1 and 2 to easily go more power.

i thought it was something to do with the head design. but honestly the roush 2650 leaves something to be desired. a VMP setup for 15-17 seems much better.

18 has direct injection. There is no longer room in the valley as on the 15-17 models.

The main reason for my interest in this horsepower numbers aside comes from the manufactures website.

http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/ProductsServices/Vehicle/Superchargers/tvs-r2650/index.htm

I'm also assuming that the current 2650 is only a stage one kit with a stage two on the way. so comparing those numbers, the 2650 makes a difference.

Sure, understood. Do your homework and check 'em out, but from what Reds197 has posted, they won't fit anyway. If I didn't have one at all, and it would've fit, I would've looked into the 2650 as well. But I'm super happy with mine. Very smooth and reliable.

not sure if you just want to be unique or think its better. the 2300 pack produces all the power you can ask. if you dont like the 2300 go gen3 whipple or a KB or a vmp.

Why would you want to retro fit a roush 2650 when you could get a purposefully designed blower from VMP that uses the 2650 rotor pack?

It would fit just fine in a 15-17. You can't use a 15-17 in an 18 up. As someone mentioned, the inlet on the 2650 Roush is a choke point and will limit all future mods as you will never be able to get the air into the blower to take advantage of the 2650 rotors. If you have a 15-17 and want a 2650 TVS blower the VMP Gen3 is the setup.

Roush or FRPP is a good entry point or a dealer up sell, especially with the warranty. It gets the job done but if you want to step it up with a PD blower look for a KB Whipple or VMP.

Yeah OP, if the BIG power in a PD is what you're after, don't fool around with the Roush's. My 620-630 to the wheels has all the power I want for the foolin' around that I do, but those bigger displacement Whipples or Kenne Bells are the way to go to make bigger power more efficiently. I personally don't give a sh*t about chasing 850 to the wheels, if I did, probably a Whipple would've been my choice, or a KB, but admittedly don't know much about the KB's. They're all good, just depends on your goals.

I would get the Gen 3 VMP if I wanted the 2650 rotor pack on a coyote. Big ass 173MM TB and 10 rib = all the powers

we just did a 160 tb 11-14 car that made a legit 981 on our stingy dyno with a vmp 2650

They make the 2650 in rear feed too. So it will fit the other lower.
