Awesome. The ecoboost is in 3rd place as if 8am est. I strange to see two classes of cars racing in the same race.

FWIW, there are a lot more than two classes. When I was watching the beginning yesterday they talked about at least eight classes. That is one of the things that make this type of racing interesting, all the different classes on the track at the same time.

Yes, Dixon is our only hope now. I was up there last night and the wind was atrocious.

30min to go Dixon has 4sec lead over 2nd. Dont be surprised if we dont get a Dale Jr caution.....I mean debris on the track to get the Corvette DP up to the Ford.

Now I begin to understand Ford's use of the EB v6 in the new GT. Part of this win was fuel strategy. Granted a big part was driver time on the Chevy team but they talked fuel strategy the entire race. With power and durability the EB v6 adds fuel usage to the bag of tricks Ford will use at Le Mans.

Great pics! I remember my one and so far only chance to see Le Mans in 1987. I hiked the entire track night and day for the best shots. I should scan them someday. I guess I should find them someday.

I'm happy for Ford and the V6 Ecoboost engine and I know we will one day see a turbo 6 GT Mustang but I can't help but feel a little sad about it.
I love my 5 Ohhhhh. American muscle = V8.

Ford used the Ecoboost in the GT because the DP car was their test bed. New GT shares the suspension design, and motor. Trans is almost the same, sequential vs DCT. Aerodynamics are markedly similar. This is how to get R&D done.

edit: although, because of the rules in Tudor, the street car GT may be lighter than the DP?
