I picked mine up in MI and drove it back to CA - 2400 miles.

I screwed up and went through Denver and I-70 West trough the mountains about 2 days after they had big snow. I was also in the teens or lower at times. I had to go only 10 or 20 mph at time because it was so slippery. I actually did loose the back end for one sec when I hit a patch of ice on a corner. Fortunately, I had the car in "Weather" drive mode so the car probably saved itself.

It was a blast driving this baby home. The things I'd mention:

1. Avoid bad weather as much as possible, but the car does do quite well even in huge downpours. My worst fear was others losing it and hitting me.

2. You will notice that the gas tank is tragically too small for a car that drinks fuel so quickly. I was constantly having to pull over for gas.

3. I did get a few rock chips up relatively high on the body by the rear wheel flares. It looks likt the clear coat and paint may be a little "thin" - though maybe it's because the paint was only about 2 weeks old.

Otherwise, enjoy!

Biggest bummer by far is only getting 10-20 miles before your gas needle moves off of "F". Solidly at 3/4ths tank by 50 miles.

Been thinking about gas as well. My curren cars get 400 miles to the tank, but it looks like the GT350 will be more like 300. Pretty big difference. Going to be filling up pretty often if I use it as a DD.

My F150 has a 36 gal tank and you get used to not filling up very often. I almost ran empty in a rental one time because I'm used to over 500miles easy. This will be different, but a weekend fun car. My current fun car has a baby tank and if I track it I have to fill up at least twice to make it all day.

Essex Wire, thanks man, good info!

I usually get about 250 miles per tank (13.5-14 gallon fill up) on my 50/50 city/highway commute. I imagine the GT350 would be a little worse.

On my road trip home I was getting around 18 mpg. I wasn't leaving it in cruise control though and changing gears (4,5 & 6) every few miles to vary revs. The car can actually get around 24 highway, not that I'll ever see it for a sustained period of time.

Since getting home and near exclusively doing canyon runs, I get about 8-9.

My last car about 250 miles, per tank, if this car matches that I will be happy.
Performance with be better and that sound will cost me MPG, because I will always
be in a higher gear LOL.

Had multiple flight delays but it looks like I will get to the city the car is in around 1am. Had to spend 4hrs in DFW because of delays. Only 4 more hours and then I meet the salesman at 8am in the morning.

Good luck. It will be an epic road trip for sure. Take lots of pics on the way back!
