My PP1 and M1 sound fantastic. Anybody listening to their tire noise isn’t enjoying their cars Turn up the damn stereo, even though it’s inferior it’ll do, and get a loud exhaust and you won’t have a problem.

I find the type of pavement in the northeast to be hit or miss as far as road noise goes. Usually the pothole dodging takes my mind off of it. I only have 2,600 or so miles on my car at this point. The wider the rubber the more noise you will hear. Not much can be done about it aside from turning up the sound system volume.

Started the thread basically to confirm the road noise was normal… now that I know it is I didn’t notice it that much today! I just drive faster lol The exhaust note drowns it out ..
Thanks Everyone!!!

So I have a 2020 Mustang GT PP1 and just trying to figure out if the road noise is normal? I don’t expect our cars to be quiet but if I focus in on it … its kinda loud. 13k miles, original tires, tires tread looks good .. normal?
I notice this poster is In Texas; here they use a rough chipseal surface finish on so many roads, I hate it. It makes the roads loud and imparts a lot of high-frequency vibration.

You ain't kidding. My county seems to LOVE that stuff, even though they end up replacing the road the next year. Took me years before the first moments of driving on it did not cause a panicking sensation, that something just let go. Meanwhile, the roads they paved with the better stuff seem to fair much better, and have survived a few repavings of the other roads. So they did two of the local Farm to Market roads with each type, which is the source of my comparison here. Both roads see alot of traffic, so not like it's due to significantly less traffic, though I'm sure there is some difference.

I can only assume its a crony contract kind of thing, I would think the cost differential cant make it worth it to repave 3 times in the same period. Heck, the blacktop on the highway they HAVENT EVEN FINISHED YET already has bulges and cracks in it.

Love the name btw. Zathras always have to pay the price...

It’s probably your tires. My 2019 came with Pirelli P-zero Nero tires and they were really noisy. I replaced them with Michelins and they’re silent.

What helps to reduce road noise - sound deadening of underwings (the plastic covers around front wheels). I’ve done it on my other car - the noise volume got reduced and became lower frequency
