Just wondering if there is any indication on when they will start actually building a RHD version. The dates that I have seen mentioned of when a RHD version will be available range from between March 2015 to late 2015.

Surely it cant be that hard to sort out the differences - move a steering wheel, instrument panel, dashboard, the pedals, handbrake, these are mostly cosmetic changes. why does it take up to 6 - 8 months?

Also are there been any sighting of other RHD prototypes apart from the white convertible seen back in August? ie a GT fastback one?

I think already sorted, RHD preproduction vehicles running around US!
Are you able to provide examples?
While I would expect more than one - the only one I have seen discussed on forums or an actual picture (as opposed to photo shopped ) is the white convertible RHD one.

Given that Ford will be closing the line down on the 31st of July to make way for the MY16. I think it may be likely that Ford may start building RHD cars in May / July before the close down. Or of course they may choose to build them after the new line starts in August.

I wonder which it will be?

Our cars will be 16my - probably start making them in august.

Are you basing that on hope or fact?

I don't remember seeing any information that says the RHD cars will be 16MY.
I don't think the USA customers would like it if we get the 16MY version before them.
That said- they may start building both RHD & LHD together after they retool in Aug.

My thoughts are:
1) It would be silly for Ford to do a Midyear build of Aussie spec cars and have them sit around somewhere, whether it be the dock or storage. From my previous experience, it takes 2-3 months max to turn a car around and land it in Aus. From Japan, my 86 was an early November 2012 build and December 21st delivery. Not sure what the difference is for USA to AUS shipping but counting backwards three months from November "anticipated start of deliveries", we have August build.

2) Um, what does USA customer 'satisfaction' have to do with a Global mustang release?! Ford have to get this right. I don't think us Aussies would be happy if the USA customers got MY15 and MY16 releases first :D

3) Don't jinx it. It'll be MY16. I hope haha :headbang:

Order finalisation (NSW) happens in June/July for August+ production. As quoted by my Sydney dealer when contracts were prepared and 2 other local dealers.

We are definitely going to be getting 2016MY cars, however they will have Sync 2 for our market - not Sync 3.
Hopefully we'll get 2016MY panel alignment etc. in that case!

Will be almost like getting a Series II first up.

I really hope we get the sync 3. Just makes more sense since the US My16 are getting the upgrade. Imagine the backlash if the first shipment doesn't have sync 3 then second shipment for June does. Ill be pissed since its not something you can upgrade to later.

The issue is that Ford are only just starting to roll out Sync 2 to Europe and Australia while the Yanks have had it for the best part of 5 years.

Unfortunately it isn't just a simple case of fitting Sync 3 and so be it, the system needs to be set up for each country in terms of voice recognition of dialects, country specific settings etc.

I remember watching a video put out by Ford Europe just after I bought my Focus ST 2 and a bit years ago and they were working on the development of Sync 2/MFT then yet it's only just being introduced now.

Given that Ford Oz and indeed Ford Europe have said Sync 2 I'm fairly sure that won't be changed.
