Morning all,

On the 2018 Mustang GT PP, the reverse beeping is L O U D.
Unless I just missed the details in the manual, I see no way to turn it down a little.

Any ideas?

i think while you are backing up if it starts beeping you can use the radio volume knob to adjust the loudness of the beeps

I should have stated, I did try the volume option while reversing. Alas, it didn't help.

More importantly, are others noticing the reverse noise being rather loud?

Oh, yeah right the backup range finder. I thought they meant an audible alarm like a dump truck lol I’ve been working construction too long

My wife and I both muttered "Holy s#!+ that's loud" during my test drive when I was backing out of the lot. We were both used to the beep in my Escape. Either I've gotten used to the beep, or the volume lowered after I updated Sync to build 18025. I'll try to verify that tonight or tomorrow.

I am just glad to know it wasn't just me!
In my 2017, it certainly wasn't this loud. And, after having my tyre replaced at the dealership today, the representative checked my car, and even he commented on the sound level. He said, "Yep, that's loud...!?!"

He stated he'd look into it. So, we wait.
Even Ford chat support had no idea.

I do wonder if it is somehow tied to the phone. So, on my next incoming call, I will turn the volume down a little, and see if it somehow makes a difference.

Merely reaching here...

I've definitely gotten used to the beep. I just checked while I was out and if I focus on it, it's still loud as hell. No change from updating Sync. Also tried adjusting it with the volume knobs - no affect. On the bright side... you will not miss those warning beeps!

Anyone else with a 2018, and notice the reverse sensor sound rather loud?

In my 17 it was really loud, like so loud I was wondering how it could do it because the stereo didn’t even get to that volume. Simple solution is to disconnect the rear speakers. You still get the beeps from the front at a reasonable volume. Side benefit is you don’t have crap sound coming out of junk speakers in the back, you just have slightly substandard sound coming from the front.

The 2018 is very loud. I am used to it at this point but if I have my windows open in a parking garage, I am pretty sure everyone can hear it.

In my 2019 I've turned it OFF on the settings in the dash but the thing still beeps.

I can disable it once it comes up in reverse but through the main setting screen it shouldn't come up at all.

Some of this tech. is great and some of it makes me wish I had a 1st Gen Viper.
