I have a manual 2020 GT and I've noticed twice in the past two months my rev match has stopped working in the rain. Has anyone else experienced this before?

No. Not once. And here in south Florida it rains a lot during summer afternoons.

I'm also in South Florida and can attest to the account above. Not issues here.

No. I've only ever noticed it not rev matching on 2nd gear at low speeds (though not low enough to not need rev matching). I suspect that is something somewhere between my shifting technique and the gate sensor (?) not picking up my shift into 2nd. Usually in front of my mailbox, hence my assumption about my technique. Definitely works like a champ in the rain.

FWIW
  1. Traction Control and Stability Systems: In wet conditions, the car’s traction control and stability systems might intervene more aggressively to prevent wheel slip. This can sometimes interfere with the rev-matching system.
  2. Sensor Issues: The rev-matching system relies on various sensors, including those for wheel speed and gear position. Moisture or water ingress can affect these sensors, leading to intermittent failures1.
  3. Electrical Connections: Rain can cause issues with electrical connections if there is any water ingress. This can lead to temporary malfunctions in the rev-matching system2.
  4. Software Glitches: Sometimes, software glitches can occur, especially if the system detects unusual conditions like excessive moisture

Good stuff! 👍 Thank you!

I will pay attention during mailbox maneuvers better the next time it happens to me. Think about whether we been getting rain or not.

JBarr, you have any water getting in type issues like that happen to you? Might duck in a garage/overhang or somewhere otherwise dry the next time it happens and check out your car to see if there is wetness perhaps where there shouldn't be!

Thanks @loucas-2021 and @black22gt. I’m guessing the same. Moisture getting somewhere, I just don’t know where. I’ll look up what sensors I need to check out and go from there. No water in the cabin.
