So "rev hang" is definitely annoying me. I have been reading through the various tuning options to get rid of it and seeing mixed results.

It seems unlikely but since it is an emissions related piece of tuning, I am wondering if maybe people from states with more strict emissions standards may get a slightly different tune. Do some of us have more pronounced "rev hang" than others? Are the tuners in states with lower standards so they have no idea what people are talking about? Is there some separate section or artifact code that is not getting overwritten when certain cars get a tune?

I'm just curious as to why something that is so apparent and annoying to me is not really noticed by many people, or easily tuned out.

I'm in California and I definitely have rev hang.

I enjoy the hang, makes daily driving so much better. I imagine it's just a Mustang feature in general.

I never understood while people don't like the hang unless they skip shift?

I had it with my stock tune, I had it with my first couple aftermarket tunes (with a SCT X4), I had found other people that had it even after Lund had tuned their cars and couldn't get rid of it. I got tired of it, went with HP Tuners, and had my first tune written for me and it has been gone since then and I don't miss it a bit.

Going 1st to 2nd at normal speed, I can feel the car slowing while I sit there with clutch in waiting for the revs to drop. Makes that shift awkward.
In the upper gears I can live with it.

My car has this and it is annoying. It is definitely worse when engine is cold.

I doubt it's worse when it's cold. It's simply a program written into the computer. At least every GT has this "feature", not too sure about the other engines

I "tested" it by literally holding in the clutch longer than necessary and came to the conclusion it's to make the shifts perfectly smooth between gears. It holds it at the rpm it needs to be to seamlessly go to the next gear. I guess it's for people who aren't that great at stick. It's nice when I'm cruising around, but is annoying when I skip shift since it won't let the revs drop enough.

On the PP I like to skip gears because otherwise there's a lot of unnecessary shifting. The rev hang makes this slightly more cumbersome. I'm accustomed to riding motorcycles, wherein this sort of tomfoolery simply wouldn't fly.

Oh yeah, it's really bad when it's cold.

All of this.

That's exactly what it's for and so annoying during skip shifts

If someone has sct I'd be willing to write tunes for free if you want to R&D. I'd like to take a crack at what you guys discribe. I'd do it on my own car but since this is the first manual car I've owned I don't notice it.

Haha, dude I feel your emotions on this exactly. I can't imagine a rev hang going into an apex on a liter bike. That thought is sac tucking.
