A guy quickly showed me how to escape back to the digital speedo, but not sure if remember what he did! 🤨

You can’t keep hitting the “<“ button until you back out of whatever menu you are in? Then up or down to “gauge mode” then up or down to the Speedo?

Well, I think that's what he did, but I already forgot. I'll have to try it again next time I'm in it. This isn't my DD. I got very frustrated trying it myself and failing every time. PS, is there an outdoor temp display on this car?

Right next to the time on the top of the Sync3 display.

I just keep mine in track mode all the time. Problem sloved.

If however I’m clumsy enough to touch one of the buttons that gets it out of the speedo function there’s only one thing to do: pull over and start hitting buttons randomly until it gets where you want it. Then try to be more careful.

I think the guys at Ford that dreamed up this protocol must be part of a group named Department of Non-Intuitive Ergonomics. Their sole function is to provide entertainment for senior executives watching videos of flummoxed owners that they hijacked through Ford Pass. They have to be related to the guys that invented the Leisure Suit, which was clearly designed just to test American’s sense of humor.

I'm confused now. If he has a 400a the speedo is analog and doesn't go away. Is he looking to go back to the digital guages showing IAT volts a/f etc?

OP was in the setting for active exhaust and wanted to back out of it. A question to those of you with the 401a. Does it have a digital speedometer in the center information screen like the GT350 did?

Edit: Yes it does. I thought so.

Get rid of "Active Exhaust", one of those programmer things someone didn't want to pay for.

Quiet mode? Bite me.

IMO the digital dash is a pain in the ass. Give me the GT350 dash and toggle layout any day of the week. Much more user friendly, direct and better looking. Best dash of all S550’s.

Digital dashes be damned. I want old fashioned dial gauges and an exhaust toggle. I believe the GT350 have both. I don’t want the vibration and the engine issues. Wish Ford would do jailbreak on some Mustang and let folks get what they want, like the GT350 dash layout, but I think the horse has left

When you look inside a car and you look above a steering wheel, it is a normal expectation to see a nice set of sporty gauges. A black hole just isn’t the same.

I like the pony button shortcut in the GT, not having that would suck though. On the 350 steering wheel buttons you get damper control, steering mode and then drive mode up/down. I guess Ford figures the GT owner is more likely to want a audio source and phone toggle hot keys and more likely to accept exhaust mode changes with the drive mode select. Correct me if im wrong but switching the drive mode does update the exhaust (if equipped).
The GT350s are all manual transmission and the car is specifically track inspired. Ford is trying to allow people to keep their hands on the wheel while changing drive modes in the 350.

GT cars are for listening to music, texting, and eating Chick FIL A and playing with the exhaust and dash appearance modes for fun. That's why the performance and drive mode stuff is way over on the center stack and the steering wheel has all the make believe stuff. 😁
